Seated With Christ

“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Christianity is a life of power and not weakness and defeat. We have been brought into the Kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ. The scripture teaches us that the kingdom of God is not in word but in power (1 Cor. 4:20).

This is very important for us to know as children of God. We are not powerless — we have all the power of God at our disposal. This power gives us dominion over sin, sickness, the world, the devil and demons.

Our opening scripture is one of those key verses that can open our eyes to how much power is available to us. It says that God has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We are seated with Christ in the heavenly places.

But we know that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father. The phrase ‘right hand’ means the place of authority and power. So, sitting with Christ in the heavenly places means that we have been lifted to a place of authority and great power in God.

As a child of God, you are seated with Christ at the right hand of authority and power. This means that you have all the ability you need to walk away from any sinful habit, live a life free from sickness and disease, and be able to achieve all your dreams. You can do all things through the power available to you in Christ.

There is no limit to how much you can become, how much liberty you can walk in, and how much you can accomplish. You are seated with Christ in a place of authority and power. So, choose to walk in this power and live the life that God has made available to you in Christ, in Jesus Name.

Building Confidence in Leadership

“Be strong (confident) and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.”

One of the most important demands of leadership is confidence. You cannot lead afraid or timid — you must lead confident.

Joshua had to learn this lesson immediately after taking over Moses’ position as leader of the children of Israel. God commanded him to be confident and courageous. It was key to his leadership effectiveness.

So, how do you build confidence to lead in business, at home, at the workplace, and in ministry?

The answer is in Joshua 1:8. God didn’t only command Joshua to be confident — He also showed him how. He said, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (NCV)

Genuine and lasting confidence in leadership is built on the discipline of hearing and understanding God’s Word. What God says to you in His Word is the material for being a confident leader in your company, at home and in ministry.

To every leader, God speaks specific words that are not general but personal. These words come from the pages of the Bible but are uniquely inspired to speak directly into the leader’s life and strengthen their heart in God.

As you hear from God, faith and confidence is built. The words God speaks to you erase all your fears and doubts. They are your weapons for confronting and defeating every opposing force on your leadership journey.

Leaders are raised by the Word of God. They are built and perfected through the knowledge of God’s Word. Their confidence is built on the Word of God — it is the sure foundation for victory and great success.

So, as a leader, it is very important for you to know the Word of God. It is your main platform for building confidence for effective leadership. Glory to Jesus!

Consider The Word

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

Romans 4:19-21 (KJV)

Every believer is involved in one fight — it is called the good fight of faith. The good fight of faith is the continual battle to walk in the promises of God. It is the fight to walk in all that Christ has made available for you through His finished work of redemption.

For example, Christ has made healing available, but you must possess it by faith. When Satan tries to put sickness on your body, you should use your faith in God’s Word to resist him and walk in divine health. Faith is your ability to resist the devil and his works. It is your ability to connect to all that the grace of God has made available through Christ.

One of the most fundamental parts of the good fight of faith is learning what to consider and what not to consider. In our opening scripture, Abraham considered not his own body (too old to father a child) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

The phrase ‘consider not’ doesn’t mean you don’t see it, but that you don’t pay close attention to it. It means to regard not. It is a fight to reject negative thoughts, opinions and feelings from controlling your life and moving you away from faith in God’s Word.

Though Abraham’s body was too old and his wife’s womb was dead, he refused to pay close attention to those facts and regard them as a reason to doubt God. Instead, he chose to focus on the promise God made to him. He considered the promise of God and by focusing on it, he was able to continue in faith until he obtained the miracle of Isaac.

In the fight of faith, what you choose to focus on and pay close attention to determines whether you win or fail. If Abraham had focused on his body and the condition of Sarah’s womb, he would have staggered at the promise of God through unbelief. His faith was only kept strong and became victorious because he focused on God and His sure promise to him.

So, learn to exalt God and His Word above what you see in your body, feel or hear around you. The Word of God should stay before your eyes at all times in spite of any negative medical report. As you pay close attention to God and His promise and refuse to consider the negative facts around you, God’s power will prevail and work miracles for you, in Jesus’ Name!

Let God Transform You

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.”

After receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, the next phase is being transformed.

Transformation is the process God takes you through to change you from being a baby Christian into a mature Christian. It is the process of changing from being a believer in Christ into becoming His disciple.

The ultimate goal of transformation is to change you into the image and likeness of Christ. It helps you become like Jesus in word, thought, purpose and action.

Our opening scripture teaches us that we are transformed by God through the changing of our thinking. Through the teaching of God’s Word, God reshapes your way of thinking so that you adopt the thinking pattern of Christ.

By changing the way you think, God helps you see things His way and start acting like Christ. This means that the greatest obstacle to changing into the image of Christ is an unrenewed mind.

Until your thinking pattern is changed by the Word of God, it is impossible to manifest the character and power of Christ in you. God changes your way of thinking so that your spirit man is not hindered in expression.

Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1:2 show us that this transformation takes place as you give yourself continually to studying, meditating on, confessing and obeying the Word of God.

Meditation stands out among all because it is the process through which the seed of God’s Word is directly planted in your mind. By thinking on God’s Word daily, you start adopting the thoughts, ways and mindset of heaven. This helps you start acting like a child of God and walk in His perfect will for your life.

Let God transform you because only the transformed Christians find their purpose and easily fulfil it. Let God transform you because it is the key to becoming a disciple of Christ. Let God transform you because it is the key to manifesting both the character and power of Christ in this world. Hallelujah!

Your Inheritance in Christ

“Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed.”

Faith is a result of having a clear knowledge of God’s Word. Until the Word of God is made clear to you, it is difficult to have faith.

One of the main purposes of God’s Word is to reveal to us our inheritance in Christ. An inheritance refers to that which is rightfully yours by law — your appointed possession because of the unique relationship you have with someone.

When Christ died for us, He not only redeemed us but also purchased for us an inheritance in God. In Psalm 103:2, David prophetically called this inheritance ‘benefits’. He said, “Bless the Lord O my soul and forget none of His benefits.” He helps us understand that there are many benefits for being connected to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. These benefits are our inheritance — our rightful legal possession through faith in Jesus Christ.

Verse 3 says, “Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” These two are our first and foremost redemptive benefits. All our sins are forgiven and all our diseases are healed. This is the same message echoed in 1 Peter 2:24. Christ died for us to obtain righteousness, and by His wounds we were healed of all sickness and disease.

As a believer in Christ, forgiveness of sins and divine healing are your lawful inheritance. They are rightfully yours because of your connection to Christ as your Lord and Saviour. This means that God is always ready to forgive all your sins and heal your body of every disease because of your relationship with Christ.

The death of Christ is the foundation you should always stand upon and be assured of forgiveness for all your sins and healing for all sickness.

By the death of Jesus, the court of heaven already ruled that you are an heir of righteousness and divine healing. So all you have to do is claim your inheritance through faith and you will have it, in Jesus’ Name. That is the knowledge that makes faith for forgiveness of sins and divine healing simple. It is your inheritance, in Jesus’ Name!

Because Jesus Lives: Hope Beyond Physical Death

“In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will see me; and because I live, you also will live.”

One of the greatest fears of mankind is the fear of death. Many people will pay any price to stay alive, yet with all their efforts, they eventually die. Even science has tried to find a solution but it has failed.

The good news is that one of the main reasons why Jesus came was to deliver us from the fear of death. Hebrews 2:14 says He defeated the devil for us so that we can be free from the fear of death.

Paul writes and asks, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. How we thank God, who gives us victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ our Lord! (1 Corinthians 15:55-57 NLT).

The sting of death is sin and the strength of death is the law, but Jesus has set us free from both of them. Through His blood all our sins were washed away and forgiven. Through His sacrifice on the Cross, He delivered us from the curse of the law. We are not under the law but under grace and sin no longer has dominion over us (Gal. 3:13-14, Romans 6:1-14).

The purpose of the resurrection of Christ was to give us hope beyond physical death. There is hope of being alive after death. As children of God, our hearts should never be troubled when a believer dies, for we know that they only transitioned and went to heaven to be with the Lord. Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live” (John 11:25).

There is a solution to death and it is found in Jesus Christ. Because He defeated death and rose again, all those who put their faith in Him enjoy victory over sin and death. Salvation is the key to setting people free from sin and the fear of death. This is the gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

Building a Strong Christian Life

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

After receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the next part is pursuing growth. The purpose of growth is to make us strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. This positions us in a way so that we can withstand the evil attacks of the enemy. It also helps us rise to the place of discovering our God given purpose and be empowered to fulfill it.

So, how do we build a strong Christian life?

Our opening scripture gives us the way. The primary way is through confession of God’s word. By keeping God’s word in your mouth, you build a strong spiritual life and easily defeat the devil and his wicked plans.

Confession means speaking in agreement with God’s word. It means being in agreement with God in speech. It is filling your mouth with the word of God and making it your language.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Until your tongue is touched by God, your life can’t be changed. Confession is the pathway to allowing God to influence your life by influencing your tongue. It is the way you fill your words with life and not death.

What other people speak about you doesn’t affect you as much as what you speak about yourself does. Your words rule you more than any other person’s words. So, the easiest way to change your life is by changing what you say about yourself. And the best way to change your words, is by keeping God’s word in your mouth. Confessing God’s word, is the primary wisdom for building a strong Christian life. Glory to Jesus!

Building a Strong Christian Life (Part II)

Building a strong Christian life means deliberately growing in Christ daily until you become what He purposed for your life. It is the process of doing those things demanded of you everyday inorder to rise to your appointed place of destiny in Christ.

1 Peter 2:2 reveals to us that at the onset of our salvation, we are “new born babies” and we need to desire the sincere milk of the word so that we can grow up. So, no one starts out in Christ as a mature Christian; we all need to grow up unto maturity.

It is also important to note that there is a great difference between being a Christian and being a strong Christian. Being a Christian is by receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior but it is through daily effort that you become a strong Christian.

In yesterday’s devotion, I taught on confessing God’s word as the primary way to build a strong Christian life. The second way to build a strong Christian life is by continually meditating on the word of God.

Meditation refers to filling your mind with God’s word daily. It is the act of deliberately separating yourself from all things that distract, to think on the scriptures.

Through meditation on the word, you replace old thoughts with new ones; ungodly thinking patterns are replaced with godly ones. The impure is replaced with the pure; what comes from the devil is deleted and replaced with that which is from God.

Meditation allows the word of God to sink down into your heart. It is the process of “chewing the word of God until it is effectively digested”. The word in your mind is information, but as you meditate on it, it becomes a revelation in your heart. It is that revelation that changes your thoughts and transforms your character eternally.

So, it is wisdom to practice the habit of giving yourself wholly to the word of God through deliberate sessions of meditation. 1 Timothy 4:15, Joshua 1:8, and Psalm 1:2-3 assure you that as you meditate on God’s word, you will become a great success. Meditation on God’s word, is a sure platform for building you into a strong and very successful christian so that your life glorifies God in this world in all things. Glory to Jesus!

Building a Strong Christian Life (Part III)

A strong Christian is one who can stand the tests and trials in this world. He is one with clear knowledge about His identity in Christ and the power of God working for him. The strong Christian is aware of God’s purpose for their life and is empowered to pursue it.

In the previous devotions, we discussed two ways to build a strong Christian life; confession and meditation on God’s word.

The third way to build a strong Christian life is by practicing the word of God. Practicing the word of God involves acting on the word of God. It refers to walking in obedience to the principles of scripture.

Matthew 7:24-25 (NIV) reveals this truth saying, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

A strong Christian life is built on daily practice of God’s word. As you hear and act on the scriptures, you rise to higher levels of spiritual strength. This enables you to stand strong in times of testing without falling.

In the natural, eating food nourishes your body, but going to the gym, and engaging in work, are the ones that make your body strong. If you keep feeding on the word but don’t practice it, it won’t make you strong. The word that you practice is the one that builds you and makes you strong enough to withstand all opposing forces.

James 1:22 (GNT) says, “Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice.” This verse teaches us that if we only hear the word and do not obey what is says, we deceive ourselves. Practicing the word is what connects you to the spiritual strength God has for you.

So, choose to be a doer of the word of God and not just a hearer. Let the word of God be the foundation for all your decisions and actions at your workplace, in your home and in your ministry. This is the key to building a strong Christian life, in Jesus Name.

Assured Victory in Christ

“Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes known the fragrance of his knowledge by us in every place.”

When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, Satan marks you as his enemy. He will use trials and temptations to try to take you off the path, send demonic forces to try to oppress you and hinder you from enjoying your new life in Christ. He will also use people to fight you, your family and your destiny.

However, our opening scripture assures us that regardless of what the enemy uses to attack us, our victory is assured in Christ. It says, “Now thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ ...”. Therefore, as a child of God, victory is your end result in every battle.

No matter how intense the battle is or how long the enemy fights you, the end is you being victorious over him. Hallelujah! This truth assures you that the forces from God working in and for you, are much stronger than all the forces of the enemy working against you.

1 John 4:4 says, “Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” God is with you in every storm and He upholds you in every trying time. He said, “I will never leave you or forsake you”. He is committed to you at all times and His purpose for your life cannot be aborted or destroyed by the enemy.

Stand confident and know that “in all these things, you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus”. The moment you decided to follow Christ, and accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, you entered into a life of continual victory over the enemy. You are stronger than every habit, demon, trial or sickness Satan uses against you. Christ lives in you and His power works mightily in you to always give you victory in all things. This is the gospel, in Jesus Name!

The Body for the Lord

“The Lord does not want us to use our bodies to do sexually immoral things. Instead, the Lord wants us to use our bodies in ways that please him. Also, the Lord wants us to do what is good for our bodies.”

When Jesus came, He put on a human body. He was the Word of God made flesh. He couldn’t function effectively without a physical body. As our example, the Lord was revealing to us something important - the purpose of the body. Jesus was teaching us that we serve God with our spirit, but we are also called to serve Him with our physical bodies. We worship Him in spirit and in truth, but we can also worship Him with our bodies.

God’s desire is that He be Lord over your entire being - spirit, soul and body. He wants to express Himself through you in an unlimited way.

By using your body in ways that are pleasing to God, you serve Him with your body. Forexample, by refusing to give in your body to sexual temptation and sin, you are serving God with your body. By taking up responsibility in the house of God as an usher and welcoming people every Sunday, you are serving God with your body.

Jesus offered His body as a sacrifice for our sins. God used His body to carry all our sins away and bring us forgiveness. He also used His body to carry away our diseases and bring us healing. Therefore, serving God with your body means that God benefits from the activities of your body. It means using your physical energy and strength to promote the purposes of God and advance His kingdom in the Earth.

Romans 12:1 says that as you present your body a living sacrifice to God daily, that act becomes worship before God. The word worship used here also means service. So, everytime you are called upon to participate in any activity that promotes the spread of God’s kingdom, it is your opportunity to present your body as an instrument for serving God. As you offer your skills, energy and talents to serve the purposes of God, you are telling God that He is Lord over your body. That service cannot be ignored by God; it is an act of worship to Him. Glory to Jesus!

In Yesterday’s devotion, we focused on using our bodies to serve the Lord. I explained that serving God with your body is an act of worship. Today, I want to focus your attention on the phrase “... and the Lord for the body” as used in our opening scripture.

What does it mean for the Lord to be for your body?

The phrase ‘the Lord for the body,’ simply means that God is not against your body. He is not an enemy to your body. As simple as this sounds, it reveals something very deep and important.

Everytime your body is attacked by disease and pain, never think that it is from God. No pain or disease in your body ever comes from God because God is for your body and not against it.

Disease and pain are against your bodily health. They therefore do not come from God but from the enemy.

Satan is the cause of sickness and pain because he is the one against your body. He is not for your body. He seeks to steal your health and kill your body (John 10:10).

When you understand this truth, you will not treat any pain or disease as normal. It will build within you a zeal and faith to successfully resist every kind of pain Satan uses to attack your body.

According to Acts 10:38, Jesus is the healer of all diseases and Satan is the oppressor of our bodies. He uses sickness as a tool to oppress. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil including sickness and disease to show us that God is for our bodies.

The Lord Who is the healer of all diseases is not against your body. He wants to heal you of every sickness and disease and deliver you from all pains. Understand that divine healing is God’s message to you to show you that He is for your body and not against it. He wants you alive and healthy, and never sick, in Jesus Name! Hallelujah!

Salvation is an entry into a new kingdom and a new life. However, is is also the receiving of a new Master.

Before we are born again, we are under the rulership of the devil as our master. It is through salvation that we are set free from the Lordship of Satan and become children of God.

In salvation, Jesus is not only our Savior from sin but He is also our Lord. He is our new Master. As your Lord, He guides all your ways through the Holy Spirit, and you are called to live for Him in all things.

The Lordship of Jesus is not meant to be a burden but an act of love for Him. The love you have for Jesus is the one that provokes you to yield to Him as your Master. We submit to Him because we love Him more than any other.

Jesus said, “no one can serve two masters, he will have to hate the one and love the other”. Our submission to Jesus as Lord is a direct statement to Satan that he is not our master. It is a statement to hell and to heaven that we have chosen to follow Jesus and have nothing to do with Satan. Hallelujah!

The Lordship of Jesus sets us free from Satan and puts us under the care of our Master. Satan, sin, demons and sickness all have no authority over you because they are not your master. Jesus is your Lord and preserves you from being ruled by any of those evil forces. This is the benefit of submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ!

The greatest challenge of a Christian is not the devil but ignorance of God’s word. As you know the truth from God’s word, it becomes clear to you that God is so powerful and the devil is not meant to be a major concern to you.

The teaching of God’s word renews your mind and elevates your thinking to catch up with God’s way of thinking. Our opening scripture reveals that every time you sit under the teaching of God’s word, you are not simply hearing words, light and understanding are being imparted to you.

The light from God’s word is a source of solutions to all human problems. It is the means for defeating all forms of darkness around you. Forexample, as you receive the light on divine healing, the faith for healing is born and you are empowered to defeat every sickness in your body.

The teaching of God’s word is God’s main channel for transforming your character, bringing you the correction you need, and inspiring you to greater levels of His wisdom and anointing.

2 Peter 1:2, reveals that the grace and peace of God are multiplied in your life as you listen to sound teaching of God’s word. So, every grace you need can be imparted to you as you sit under a teaching priest. For everything that has troubled your heart, God’s word has an answer that can bring you peace.

Finally, John 8:32 reveals a staggering truth. It teaches that your freedom is dependent on how much truth you know. The truth you know is what sets you free. So, it is great wisdom for you to be a lover of the teaching of God’s word. Glory to Jesus!

Vision is the foundation for true leadership. As a leader, people follow you because you are going somewhere. They follow you because you are pursuing a worthy cause.

One of the aspects of true vision is that it gives you a long-term view about life. Vision reveals to you what to do today and what to do tomorrow.

Habakkuk 2:3 says, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Vision gives you a long-term view about life. It helps you not only live for today but also see the future and prepare for it effectively. It is that vision of the future that helps you be patient in life.

Many people perish and cast off restraint because they lack patience. They give up on life because they never had a long-term view of life. They thought life is short but as it gets longer, they get discouraged. Vision is the cure for impatience and discouragement.

Having a vision from God keeps you patient because it shows you the future. It gives you a reason to be persistent and not give up on your goals and dreams. It gives you hope that things will change and get better.

So, build your life on a clear vision from God and not on events. Keep to the course God has showed you and don’t give up inspite of the challenges. The promise is sure “though it tarry, wait for it because at the end it will speak.” Glory to Jesus!

How to Stay Pure as a Youth

Purity means living for God. It is a deliberate decision to always glorify God by staying away from everything God dislikes and disapproves of in His Word. It is also known as holiness or holy living.

Our opening scripture (Psalm 119:9), shows us how to stay pure as young people because it is important. We stay pure by obeying God’s word and following its rules. Living by the scriptures, is the key to keeping yourself pure as a youth.

However, first of all, this verse teaches us that living a pure and holy life in this world is possible. Until we settle this, we can’t even go on to the next part of the conversation. Every young person must believe that it is possible to live a pure life before they can live it.

In the Bible, we see Joseph living for God even in his youthful days. He refused to defile himself by sleeping with Potiphar’s wife because he feared God.

The same is true about Daniel and his three friends. Though they were taken captive in Babylon (a wicked city), they refused to be corrupted by the evil in that nation. They stuck to the values of God’s Word and prevailed.

So, the first step in living a pure life, is to believe that it is possible to live a pure life in this world. There is more than enough grace in Jesus Christ to uphold you and keep you from being corrupted by the evil things in this world. The reason is that as a child of God, though you are in the world, you are not of this world.

This mindset will propel you to take the second step which is obeying and living according to the rules in God’s Word. Because you are a child of God, you can live above its evils by staying committed to what God says in His Word. This is your wisdom for staying pure as a youth, in Jesus Name!

Take Charge Through Faith

The message of faith teaches us to take personal responsibility for whatever we need in our life. Instead of blaming God and the people around us, the word of faith teaches us to do something about our situation.

Your life will dramatically change and take a new direction when you believe and know that God Has already done all that is needed to make you a success. The only remaining part is yours to do.

In our opening scripture, we see that though Jesus was God, as long as He slept and did nothing about the storm, it continued. The boat kept filling up with water and the winds blew all the time He was sleeping.

Note also that He didn’t rebuke the winds and waves in His sleep, but He had to arise out of sleep and take charge of the situation. That is what changed the whole situation.

Faith in God challenges you to arise and take charge of the situation. Faith assures you that you have the power through God to dominate and subdue any negative situation in your life.

Jesus operated by faith when He arose, spoke to the winds and the sea, and commanded them to quiet down. Faith speaks to the storm and it obeys. If it is a disease, don’t lie down in bed and allow it to keep harassing your body; arise, rebuke it in Jesus’ Name, and take your healing!

There is no storm that will continue in your life if you choose to believe the word of God and take responsibility over it through faith. There will be more than enough power available for you to calm the storms around you if you arise and act on the word of God in faith, in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah!

Peace is one of the most expensive ‘commodities in life. It is very precious and no one ever wants to lose it.

Many people in the world would give all their possessions just to attain peace of heart and mind. But that is not how to get peace. The Bible reveals the way to us.

Our opening scripture teaches that there is no peace to the wicked. This means that until wickedness is forsaken, there can be no peace.

Proverbs 28:1 says “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous is bold as a lion”. The source of all human fears, wars, strife, anxieties and everything that takes away peace, is wickedness.

Peace never comes because of wealth; it only comes after wickedness has been dealt with. The solution to wickedness is righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Righteousness is therefore the foundation for finding true and lasting peace.

Note that as the wicked is fleeing when no one is pursuing him, the righteous stand bold as a lion. Righteousness is God’s way of bringing you the peace you need.

Romans 5:1 says “having been declared righteous through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. Peace is possible. It is accessed through the righteousness that comes from believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

So, you can find peace today. Believe in Jesus Christ and be made righteous. That is the sure way to true and lasting peace. Glory to Jesus!

Jesus Christ came full of grace and truth (John 1:14). He came to minister grace to us and lead us into the truth.

This also means that every work of Jesus, is a revelation of God’s grace towards man. Salvation, healing and setting the captives free are all works that display the grace of God towards mankind.

Our opening scripture teaches that we are saved by grace through faith. The word ‘saved’ comes from the Greek ‘sozo’ which means salvation, preservation, safety, healing, and deliverance. It is an all inclusive word that describes all the blessings available to us through the redemption we have in Jesus Christ.

Divine healing is a work of God’s grace. Just as there is a saving grace, there is also a healing grace. The same grace that takes away our sins also brings us healing for our bodies.

We are saved from our sins by grace through faith, and we are also healed by grace through faith. None of the two is based on your good works; they are all gifts of God’s grace. They are received by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Your faith for healing will always work if you don’t base it on what you have done or not done but entirely on the finished work of Jesus. This is what it means to depend on the grace of God.

Faith works through grace including healing faith. You should believe that you are qualified for healing because Jesus died for you and by His wounds you were healed.

This understanding will help you know that God is willing to heal you every time including times when you feel you don’t qualify. His healing is a work of grace and it is for all who come to Him in faith. That is why even non believers get healed on crusades before they are saved. Healing is yours because it is a work of God’s grace. Hallelujah!

Our opening scripture reveals a great truth to us - God’s first priority is forgiveness of sins and then healing for the body.

Notice that they brought a sick man to Jesus but before healing him, He first dealt with the sin problem. He said, “Son, your sins are forgiven [you] and put away ...”

The Lord was showing us that forgiveness of sins which brings salvation for our souls is the number one priority of heaven. Jesus came to seek and save the lost - that is His primary mission (Luke 19:10).

The putting away of your sins is God’s primary work in your life because saving your soul is His first priority. He wants to rescue you from all your sins and give you eternal life. This inside work is more important than the outside work of healing your body.

Note that if you are healed of sickness and disease but not yet forgiven and saved from your sins, you still end up in hell. Salvation for the soul is the key to securing a place in heaven. It is the only way to become a child of God. That is why it is Jesus’ first priority in your life.

Faith and prayer are interconnected. They work hand-in-hand to help us secure the results we desire in life.

Faith is based on the promises of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Faith comes as you hear the word of God and receive it with an open heart (Romans 10:17).

The coming in of faith into your heart, often provokes you to pray. Prayer is a platform for releasing your faith in God. It is a platform for declaring the promises of God over your life. It is a channel through which you express what you truly believe.

The prayer of faith is a prayer based on the promises of God. It is a means for reaching out to take a hold of those things which already belong to you in Christ Jesus. The hand by which you reach out is faith and the channel you use is prayer.

This helps us understand that our knowledge of God’s word, shapes our attitude and faith in prayer. The quality of your prayer life is determined by how much you know from God’s word. Ignorance and insufficient information from God’s word, are the greatest causes of lack of faith and little results in prayer.

So, become a diligent student of God’s word so that you know His promises (towards you) and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Then, use those promises and the acquired knowledge to stand strong in faith in prayer and declare changes in every area of your life. This is the partnership between prayer and faith. God’s primary work is to change the leader. Once the leader is transformed, he can be trusted and sent by God to transform others.

This concept is clearly revealed throughout the scriptures both in the old and New Testament. God must first make the man before He sends him and commissions him to work for Him.

Our opening scripture teaches that God draws you as a leader, and then others run after Him. God wants to first have your heart as a leader before He can use you to win the hearts of others. He wants to first teach you and make you teachable before He sends you out to be an instructor to others.

Only those who are taught well by God and accept His leadership can effectively lead others. Until God has the freedom to transform a leader, He doesn’t have the ability to work through Him to change others.

It is the leader who has been impacted greatly by God in prayer, Bible study and through spiritual discipline, who has the power to impact and change others effectively. It is therefore great wisdom for every leader to seek first to be taught by God before trying to teach others. Seek first to know God deeply before seeking to reveal Him to others. This will give you a firm foundation for effective leadership.

Your first and greatest priority as a leader should not be how many people you are impacting, but how much transformation is going on in your life as you fellowship with God. After you are changed, it will be easy for God to work through you mightily to change multitudes for His glory. Glory to Jesus!

Reconciling the Two Destinies

There are two kinds of destiny; natural destiny and divine or heavenly destiny.

The natural destiny is a result of the natural events surrounding your life. Forexample, you become an engineer because you studied engineering or become a nurse because you went to nursing school. This is a destiny you find yourself in because of the various events that occured and shaped the course of your life over the years.

On the other hand, divine destiny is the path God chooses for you. It is not based on your own decisions or natural events but on God’s predetermined will for your life. It can even contradict your natural destiny and ambitions.

Forexample, you may have studied and became an engineer by profession, but God can call you to become a Pastor. This doesn’t mean you quit being an engineer, it only reveals that you have found your divine destiny to accompany the natural destiny you are already pursuing.

Divine destiny is superior to your natural destiny. Your natural destiny is meant to serve and be submissive to your divine destiny. God wants you to use your natural destiny to boost your effectiveness in pursing and fulfilling your divine destiny.

True spiritual maturity comes when you learn to reconcile your natural destiny with your divine destiny. The knowledge you acquired in school can help you study the Bible better, and easily capture the interpretations given to you by the Holy Spirit. This makes you a better teacher and preacher of God’s word.

Bezalel was first a carpenter and skilled craftsman before God used him to build the Tabernacle under Moses’ ministry. David was first a shepherd boy taking care of his father’s few sheep before God made him a shepherd and King over Israel. He was also a skillful harp player and God used that talent to produce wonderful songs that became the book of Psalms.

Peter too was first a fisherman before Jesus turned him into a fisher of men (a soul winner). So, learn to use your natural destiny to pursue divine destiny more effectively. That is the wisdom of the mature that helps them live a balanced and fulfilling life. Glory to Jesus!

God is always speaking and sending out messages to guide us into the best paths for our lives. However, the challenge is yielding to Him.

The story of Abraham has many great lessons but the key lesson is yielding to God. In our opening scriptures, we see that when Abram was called to leave his family and go to an unknown land, he obeyed.

Hebrews 11:8 reveals that he went out not knowing exactly where he was going. He went out by faith. It takes faith in God to yield to His leadings and promptings in your life. Many people hear from God but the challenge is believing what He said to them.

The proof of faith in God’s word to you, is your yieldedness and obedience. Abraham’s obedience, was a sign of His faith in what God said to him. He yielded to God because he trusted Him and His word.

Faith is not only for getting miracles from God; it is also the backbone for yielding to God and obeying His voice. Your actions of faith are the ways you yield to God. They are the key to walking with Him and inheriting all He has in store for you. Abraham became great because he believed and yielded to God.

So, cultivate the habit of obeying the voice of God in your life. Take His instructions seriously and act on them with all your heart. When you miss it (which you will do), repent and humble yourself before Him. This is how you yield to God, in Jesus Name!

One of the greatest errors in life is always celebrating other people and never celebrate yourself. It also includes taking care of others and never taking good care of yourself. This is not the right attitude in life.

We should serve others, appreciate and celebrate them without neglecting ourselves. God didn’t tell us to love our neighbors and hate or neglect ourselves. He said, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself”.

Celebrating who you are and what God has done in and for you is part of loving yourself. It is key to empowering you and positioning you to be effective in loving others. If you can’t love, appreciate and celebrate yourself, it will be impossible for you to love, appreciate and celebrate others.

In our opening scripture, David took a personal journey to think about his life and what God had done in his life. His conclusion caused him to celebrate himself and say, “I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made.” Hallelujah!

Can you say that about yourself? You should rejoice in who God has made you. How he fashioned you, your speech, where you live, your work and all the opportunities He has given you. Thank God for the gift of life, the friends He has given you, and all the times He has protected you from evil.

Like David, learn to appreciate and celebrate yourself. Say to yourself, “I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made.” That should be your testimony. Keep it in your thoughts and in your mouth always because it is the truth.

The New Century Version says, “I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.” Glory to Jesus! It is great wisdom to learn to celebrate yourself because you are worth celebrating, in Jesus Name!

Healing Instructions

And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.”

Every miracle Jesus performed was unique because it carried a definite message to us. Every healing was a message about the character of God and provided an understanding of the ways of His kingdom. There is great wisdom hidden in all the miracles of Jesus. They are for our learning and encouragement.

In our opening scripture, we see Jesus healing ten lepers. But unlike the leper He touched and healed in Mark 1:40-42, in this case He never touched any of them. Jesus simply gave the ten lepers an instruction, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”

Scripture says, “And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.” Note that it was as they went to see the priest that they were healed. The key to their healing was acting on the instruction of Jesus. There healing was hidden in the specific instruction given to them by the Lord. Hallelujah!

Divine healing is easy when you connect to the specific instruction God has for you. It is not about what kind of sickness you have, but your connection to God’s specific instruction for your healing. It was not about how leprous the men were or how long they had suffered but their healing was hidden in acting on Jesus’ instruction.

Understand that God is not limited to one or two ways of healing; He can heal through diverse ways. Understanding the unique way He wants to heal you is more important than the healing itself. It is the key to unlocking and receiving your healing.

Copying God’s way of healing others won’t always work. It is best to inquire from God and find out His unique instruction for healing you. The ten lepers would have missed their healing if they were locked in Jesus’ pattern of touching the sick and laying hands on them. They would also have missed it if they desired to dip themselves in Jordan seven times like Naaman. In their case, the specific healing instruction was “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”

So, most times the issue is not that God can’t of doesn’t want to heal but that many people miss His specific way of healing them. Once God’s instruction concerning your case is revealed, your healing is readily made available. If you receive that instruction with joy and act on it in faith, nothing can stop you from being healed. That is the power of healing instructions. Glory to Jesus!

God is love and is impartial. He has set a foundation for everyone in this world to be saved. His love is all inclusive. There is no one on earth that God doesn’t love or care about.

In 1 Timothy 2:4, He reveals that He wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. ALL MEN means all humanity and that includes you. It is God’s desire for you to be saved from your sins and come to the knowledge of the truth.

Our opening scripture, reveals that God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten Son - Jesus, so that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life. Salvation is free for all. Everyone in the world has been loved by God through the sacrifice of Jesus, and all can come to Him and be saved.

So, you can receive this salvation today if you haven’t yet, and be saved from perishing. God will forgive you of all your sins and give you eternal life. Salvation is free and you don’t have to pay for it; Jesus paid the full price so that whoever believes is saved, in Jesus Name.

When God makes a promise to you, the next phase is for you to believe that promise. Believing what God says to you, is the key to possessing what He promises. Your faith is what unlocks the potentials and possibilities in God’s promises to you.

In our opening scripture, we see that though God had made a promise to give Israel the promised land, they did not believe it. The doubt was mainly caused by the evil report of unbelief brought back by the ten spies.

Unbelief and doubt disconnect you from what God has for you. They are Satan’s tools for hindering you from walking in the promises of God.

When God tells you that the land is yours and you say “I can’t possess it”, you make His word of promise ineffective in your life. Faith is the key to cooperating and working with God. When you believe, you are saying to God, “I choose to agree with you”.

Doubt is disagreeing with God and His word. It is thinking, speaking and acting contrary to what He desires for you. The challenge of faith is to take God at His word inspite of the obstacles you see. If God says you are taking the land, don’t consider the giants. If He says by His wounds you were healed, don’t consider the symptoms.

Understand that whatever you exalt, is what you worship. What you worship is what you truly believe in. Exalting God and His word above the contrary situations, is a sign of worship to Him. It pleases Him and provokes His power to work for you. This is the challenge of faith. Glory to Jesus!

Leadership Series: In the Silent Years

It takes time for God to make you a leader. There are several phases and processes He takes you through to make you the man or woman you are created to be in this world.

1 Timothy 3:6 warns us not to put novices or immature people in positions of ministry. The point is that the training of God is necessary to mature you and turn you into a great leader.

One of the major aspects of God’s leadership training process are the silent years. Silent years represent the years of your obscurity from the public eye. They are years when you are being formed by God in character and spiritual stature.

Our opening scripture gives us an example of John the Baptist. Though he was born with a leadership mandate to go before the Lord and prepare the way for Him, he experienced many silent years in the wilderness - growing strong in Spirit before his manifestation to Israel.

The silent years are years when God shapes the leader’s character, changes their thinking to align with His, and clearly reveals to them His purpose and assignment for their life. It is also the time when God anoints you, awakens the gifts of the Spirit in your life, and teaches you how to function in the anointing He has given you.

It is sometimes called the wilderness experience. This is because it is filled with several tests that come to mature you and turn you into a responsible leader. With every test, there is a lesson to learn and wisdom to imparted to your heart.

Jesus experienced 18 silent years before His manifestation. Moses also experienced 40 silent years before God appeared to him at the burning bush and called him to be deliverer of Israel. Bible scholars say that Joseph also spent 18 years of testing (in Potiphar’s house and in prison) before he became prime minister and walked in the reality of God’s dreams for his life.

As a leader, silent years don’t mean that God has forgotten you; He is simply working on you to perfect all that concerns you. He is with you and building you into the leader He ordained you to be. He is strengthening your spirit, imparting wisdom and making clear His vision for your life. So, don’t panic or be discouraged. Accept God’s training and believe that in due time your vision will speak. Hallelujah!

The King James version says “The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.” As you walk with God, you will come to know that He will never ask you to do anything without first giving you the ability to do it. For everything God requests you to do, He first empowers you.

Forexample, God tells us to love one another because His love has been shed abroad our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). He tells us to live by faith because He has already given us the spirit of faith (2 Cor. 4:13) and His word as the material for increasing in faith (Romans 10:17).

With this background, we can now understand what He means when He tells us to treat older women as mothers and younger women as sisters WITH ALL PURITY.

God is not only telling us how to treat people but He is actually revealing to us the ability He has given us to do so. The ability is the purity within your spirit.

As a child of God, your heart is pure and you have the ability to treat people right. God is not telling you to look for purity outside of you, but to simply yield to the purity He has already placed within you and use it as your ability to treat others right.

With all the purity in your spirit, you are able to treat old women as mothers and young women as sisters. This is part of your inheritance as a child of God.

Though the world is evil, you have God’s purity within you as an ability for treating all people with respect. Learn to yield to this purity everyday. It will prevent you from hurting or abusing anyone. You will always find yourself thinking and acting right towards all those around you even in difficult times because you have learnt to yield to the pure spirit within you. Hallelujah!

Escaping the Trap of Excuses

What is an excuse? It is the reason you give inorder to avoid doing something or being held responsible for certain actions.

In our opening scripture, God attaches excuses to a life of laziness. He says, “The lazy person is full of excuses, saying, ‘If I go outside, I might meet a lion in the street and be killed!’”

Excuses are well meaning reasons for justifying one’s reason for not acting as demanded. However, they are a trap because they make you lazy and don’t take away the consequences of not doing what is required of you.

Forexample, if you refuse to work hard, poverty will not excuse you; it will definitely attack you.

The cure for excuses is discipline and being responsible for your life. Discipline demands of you to act as you should in every situation regardless of how you feel. It is the ability to control your emotions and stick to the goals and plan you set for your life. Discipline is your ability to function by the set principles and not be carried away by the prevailing circumstances.

The truth is that no one wants to work hard everyday or wake up late in the night to pray and plan. However, all successful people will tell you that it is by doing those things you don’t want to do, that you get to your desired future. Success has a price and that price is disciplined action coupled with sacrifice. Excusing yourself from these two, automatically nullifies your potential for success.

Wisdom teaches you to value work and understand that it is a blessing and not a burden or ‘hustle’. God Himself said, “I will bless the works of your hands”. Jesus said “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day”. All the patriarchs including father Abraham were hard workers. Paul the great Apostle said, “I labored more abundantly than them all”.

So, as a child of God don’t give any excuse for not working. Be passionate and diligent in your work. Always give your very best in service to God and at your workplace. This is God’s wisdom for escaping the trap of excuses and its consequences which include poverty and the frustration that comes from unfulfilled goals. Glory to Jesus!

The Barnabas Effect: Discerning Your Destiny Helpers

“Saul went to Jerusalem and tried to join the disciples. But they would not believe that he was a disciple, and they were all afraid of him. Then Barnabas came to his help and took him to the apostles. He explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that the Lord had spoken to him. He also told them how boldly Saul had preached in the name of Jesus in Damascus. And so Saul stayed with them and went all over Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.”

The church has been greatly impacted by the ministry of the great man - Apostle Paul. Paul wrote three quarters of the New Testament. It is through his letters that we understand what Jesus truly did for us on the Cross and who we are in Him.

However, Paul didn’t start out that way. Our opening scripture reveals that he was first rejected by the believers because they doubted his salvation. God helped him through Barnabas.

Though he is not so much known and celebrated by the church, Barnabas is the man God used to bring Paul to the scene. He is the vessel God used to help Paul be accepted both by the apostles and the brethren. This was essential to the ministry of Paul.

The Barnabas effect refers to those people assigned on your path to help you enter doors that are difficult for you to enter by yourself. These are destiny helpers whom God has shown the true picture of who you are and are willing to do anything to help you fulfill His purpose for your life.

Barnabas was not Paul’s companion; he was his destiny helper sent from God. His assignment was to open the door for Paul to go in and do what God had called him to do. His mission was to make easy the areas that were difficult for Paul as he started his ministry.

The Barnabas effect is one of the major keys to fulfilling your destiny. God expects you to understand that you don’t have the power to open every door by yourself. He expects you to be humble enough to discern your destiny helpers, receive them and submit to their authority so that they help you.

Failure to believe in your destiny helpers or reject them makes certain doors impossible for you to enter. Wisdom teaches that people are not brought your way just for fun but for a purpose. The doors of God are opened through men and women around you. There are people who have the keys to the future you desire.

So, knowing your destiny helpers and working with them, is key to being aligned with God’s will for your life and fulfilling your destiny effectively. Just as Paul’s destiny came to light when Barnabas took him and introduced him to the apostles, yours too will flourish and bear great testimonies for the Lord when you discover your destiny helpers and submit to them, in Jesus Name.

Healing Series: The Proof of Faith

“Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.””

Faith is one of the cardinal elements of the Christian life. It is impossible to please God without faith (Heb. 11:6).

Salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). Healing is according to your faith. Every miracle in your life is a result of operating by faith. Lastly, God said “the righteous shall live by faith” (Heb. 10:38). So, the whole christian life is a journey of faith. That is why it is very important for us to understand the subject of faith.

Today, I am majoring on the proof of faith. Proof refers to evidence. In our opening scripture, we are given a clear example of the proof of faith. When the men that brought the paralytic saw that there was no room to get him through the door, they uncovered the roof of the house and lowered him down before Jesus.

Note that scripture says “when Jesus SAW THEIR FAITH ... He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” How did Jesus see their faith? He saw it in their action of uncovering the roof to ensure their friend is brought before Him for healing.

The proof that they believed Jesus could heal their friend was revealed by their persistent action to get to where Jesus was. Actions of faith are the proof of your faith in God. What you do on the outside in response to the faith you have in your heart, is the evidence of your faith.

That is why I never understand when someone says I missed service because I was sick. I always think that is the very reason they should attend the service so that they get healed. By staying home, they show that they have no faith for healing. If they take a step of faith and come to the service, God honors their faith and heals them.

Jesus told the paralytic man, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” (Mark 2:11-12).

The second proof of faith was the way the paralytic man responded to Jesus’ instruction. He was healed because he acted on Jesus’ word in faith. His action of rising up when Jesus told him to do so, is what caused the healing power to perfect his body and deliver him from the paralysis.

James 2:17 teaches us that faith without works is dead. It is your actions of faith that make your healing manifested. It is your actions of working hard that make your faith for prosperity and success a reality. It is your action of confessing Jesus as Lord that leads to salvation.

Without engaging in corresponding actions, faith is made ineffective. So, whatever God says to you, do it. That is how you prove your faith, in Jesus Name.

Actions of faith are the proof of your faith in God. What you do on the outside in response to the faith you have in your heart, is the evidence of your faith.

Salvation is an entry into the kingdom of God and the reception of eternal life.

In this new kingdom and new life, we are forgiven of all our sins and live as children of God. This is what it means to be born again. We are born into a new kingdom, a new life and a new family - the family of God.

As members of this family, we are called to live our lives for God. Part of the way we do so is by serving Him. Serving God is part of the reasons why we are born again. We are saved to become God’s instruments for saving others. We are saved so that we become God’s channels for reaching out to save others.

There are various ways to serve God: through preaching the gospel, sharing and caring for the needy, teaching a small Bible study group, giving towards the spread of the gospel, being part of the worship team, ushering or any other department in church. Anything that you do to promote the causes of the kingdom of God, is acceptable as service to God (so long as it doesn’t contradict scripture).

The King James says we should be fervent in spirit as we serve the Lord. A modern version says we should be burning with zeal as we serve the Lord.

The point is that in all your service, give God the best of you. Give Him the best of your time, energy and resources. That is the best way to serve Him with all your heart.

Understanding God’s love for us, is one of the greatest weapons we have against deception. Once we are sure that God loves us and has the best in mind for us, it is very difficult for the enemy to turn us away from Him.

One of the greatest tools Satan uses to turn people away from God is the lie that God doesn’t care about them. He convinces them that if God loved and cared for them, He wouldn’t have allowed them to go through bad situations.

This deception can easily be defeated by understanding that God is for you and never against you. He loves you more than anyone you know and is committed to doing you good all the days of your life. In all things, God is always fighting to ensure that you have the victory. He has never and will never celebrate your failure.

In our opening scripture, God clearly reveals that all His plans for you are good and never evil. He wants you to prosper and have a great future. He is always on your side to defend you from evil and ensure that you become all that He wants you to be. Success is all that God wishes for you.

So, even at your worst, know that He still loves you and wants the best for you. Instead of complaining and turning your back against Him, pray and He will answer you. His anger only endures for a moment but His love for you is everlasting. He never gives up on His children because He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God is always for you and with you. This is your source of hope for change and assurance of a great future ahead of you, in Jesus Name!

True leadership comes from God. It is God who appoints the right leaders over nations, ministries and even families.

Forexample, in the home, God said the man is the head of the family; that is His choice. That is the same way He chooses you to lead.

Our opening scripture confirms this. David was the youngest of all his brethren and when Prophet Samuel came to anoint a King over Israel, David’s dad never considered him as a fit candidate for the position. He forgot him and only brought seven of his choicest sons to Samuel.

In the mind of Jesse, the seven older brothers of David were the ones fit to be the king of Israel. However, God doesn’t think like men and His choices often contradict people’s choices.

God saw David’s heart and not his age or height. That was his qualification for leadership. This means that regardless of how many people disqualify you, God’s endorsement is what counts. As a leader, God chose you because He knows that your heart is right inspite of your mistakes and weaknesses. He knows that you truly love Him and are doing your best to perform His will for your life. He knows that you truly love the people you lead and desire the best for them.

These are greater things before God than your size and age. Your heart counts more than all your physical weaknesses. David fell short in many ways, but His heart was right and pure even in times of weakness. This is what made him the greatest King of Israel.

So, as a leader be bold and don’t allow anyone to intimidate you. The reason is that you can’t lead afraid and intimidated. You can’t also lead while doubting yourself and feeling unqualified. Understand that God saw all those people you think are more qualified than you and yet He still chose you. You are God’s choice! Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus!

It is God’s will for you to have a good life. God wants the very best of everything for you. He wants you to have the good and perfect gifts He has in store for you. He believes that you deserve it.

However, this requires a mindset shift and faith. You must believe that you are qualified for God’s best. You must also believe that you deserve it.

The reason is that after going through much suffering and making many mistakes in life, it is easy to settle for less. When people go through much suffering and negativity, it tends to condition them to start accepting evil as their lot and destiny in life. But this is a lie from the devil. The truth is that God wants to forgive you, restore you and give you the best in life.

Our opening scripture reveals that God’s mind towards you is to give you good and perfect gifts. He doesn’t want negativity to shape your thinking and make you believe that He has cancelled your name from the list of those He wants to bless.

Understand that your failures are not enough reason to disqualify you from God’s good and perfect gifts in life. His love for you is greater than all your mistakes and He still has the best in mind for you. God is love and doesn’t hold grudges. He is slow to anger and abounding in love. He is always loving and caring. He still believes in you and believes that you deserve His best.

So, believe that you deserve a good husband inspite of your bad past as a young ‘spoilt girl’. Believe that you deserve a good life inspite of the times you failed and didn’t obey God’s voice. Your mistakes haven’t changed God. His love for you still remains the same. You are His child and you still deserve the best - good and perfect gifts from Him. Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus!

Revelation: Your Place of Possession

The purpose of hearing God’s word, is to receive divine revelation. When REVELATION comes into your heart about God, His power and who you are in Him, it is impossible for you to remain a captive of the enemy.

Revelation knowledge is the mother of faith and freedom. Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. John 8:32 shows that the more insight you have, the better positioned you are in God and in this world for success and freedom.

Our opening scripture teaches us that the secret things belong to God but the things that are revealed belong to us. Revelation shows you what belongs to you so that you can possess it. God says, “if you can see it in His word, then nothing can block you from having it”. Hallelujah!

Revelation is the unveiling of those things which belong to you so that you possess them. Forexample, when you read that Jesus took your sicknesses and bore your diseases, and by His wounds you were healed, healing is revealed to your heart. That revelation of your healing is what brings faith for healing and helps you possess it.

Proverbs 29:18 (AMP) says, “Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish ...”. Revelation knowledge from God’s word is the foundation for building strong faith to enable you possess all that God has for you in Christ. Once it is revealed to you, it is readily available to you for your taking.

This is what God meant when He said to Joshua, “Every place the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given you” (Joshua 1:3). You tread upon scripture through revelation and every scripture you tread upon, you possess.

Once you see your healing in the scriptures by revelation, diseases lose their power over you. Once revelation on financial prosperity comes to your heart, poverty and lack lose their grip on you. REVELATION is the power to break away from anything that has been hindering you. It is your platform for accessing all that you need in God.

So, as you read the Bible, always ask God to open your eyes and show you great and wonderful things that you don’t know (Psalm 119:18). When it is revealed to you, it is yours to possess, in Jesus Name!

Wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7). It is therefore the greatest asset for building a successful life. Anyone who helps you access wisdom, is your greatest helper in life.

However, the wisdom of God operates by laws and principles. One of those principles is the law of focus. Focus means paying utmost attention to what you are doing. It is a state of mind and heart where you are obsessed with what you are doing that nothing can distract you.

Focus means being where you are per time and doing what is required of you with all your heart and strength. It is the ability to totally concentrate and do what is required of you until it is accomplished.

Our opening scripture reveals that with focus comes establishment. When you give your work the focus it requires, your labours will be unique and yield outstanding results. Focus is the foundation for accuracy, excellence and effectiveness at work.

Focus is the key to finishing whatever you start. If you have many unfinished projects on your desk, just improve your level of focus. Remove the distractions and learn to give your work all it takes. Soon, you will realize that you have accomplished so much in a very short time.

Focus is key to effectiveness. Whatever you do with maximum concentration, always yields the greatest results. With every distraction, you lose energy and time that would have been spent on the right projects. This reduces your speed of accomplishment and ability to execute your work effectively. Focus helps you maximize your strength and skills in the pursuit of the right goals.

Distractions are Satan’s tools for reducing your effectiveness and making you a mediocre person. So, learn to focus on each task at hand. Don’t let distractions cause you to turn to the right hand or to the left. Look straight ahead with purpose and keep working until every task is accomplished. This is your wisdom for becoming an effective and excellent worker, in Jesus Name.

Healing Series: In the Beginning

When you go to see a doctor, they can’t help you except you submit to the instructions they give you. You must take the medicine as prescribed for it to work. The same is true for spiritual healing. You must follow the steps prescribed by God for you to receive your healing.

Romans 10:17 says “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. Hearing the Word of God is the foundation for building faith for any miracle you need from God including divine healing.

Our opening scripture clearly shows us this pattern. It says, “In the beginning was the Word ...”. The Word of God comes before the healing. It should lay the foundation for the start of your journey towards healing. Before trying to be healed, be patient enough to listen to the Word of God and build your faith. Hearing the Word of God to build faith is the first step in your journey towards receiving healing from God.

In Luke 5:15 and 6:17, the people understood this and they came to Jesus, “to hear and to be healed of their diseases”. They had learnt that you must begin with the Word of God before going for the healing.

People blame preachers when they are prayed for and they don’t get healed. However, the challenge with such people is that they don’t want to follow the pattern God set in scripture. If you fail to receive your healing, go back and check whether you began the journey the right way according to divine pattern. Instead of blaming preachers and comparing them, check yourself to see if “in the beginning was the Word”.

The Word of God is the sure foundation for having faith for divine healing. Once the foundation is properly set, it is impossible for the healing power of God not to work for you.

So, become a lover of the teaching of God’s Word. Listen to the Word on healing until you understand it. Then, it will produce in you the faith you require to receive healing from God. Those who begin with the word, always easily believe and receive their healing. This is the right pattern for receiving healing from God, in Jesus Name!

The purpose of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is to give everyone an opportunity to choose. When you hear the gospel, you can either believe and be saved or reject it and be condemned.

Our opening scripture reveals that as we preach some will believe and some will refuse to believe. The consequence is that those who believe will be saved and those who do not believe will be condemned.

When Jesus Christ is preached to you, you are presented with the opportunity to either choose eternal life or spiritual death. You can choose to receive the forgiveness of sins God has for you or remain bound by your sins.

Believing the gospel is a choice. Refusing to believe the gospel is also a choice. Whatever choice you make, determines where you end up in life and eternity.

John 3:16 says “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. God’s part was done when He sent Jesus to die for your sins and He was raised for your righteousness. Now, all you need to do is believe in Jesus and be saved.

So, what is your choice? I encourage you to believe on the Lord Jesus and be saved. All your sins will be washed away and you will receive righteousness and eternal life. This is the best choice to make, in Jesus Mighty Name!

According to 1 Timothy 6:12, we are engaged in a fight. It is called the good fight of faith. In this fight, we do not use physical weapons but spiritual ones. It’s a spiritual fight that calls for us to use spiritual weapons for us to win.

The first weapon is the Word of God. To win in the fight of faith, you must fight using scripture. The word of God is a mighty weapon because it doesn’t fail.

The word of God is so important in winning the good fight of faith because faith, which is a vital requirement in this fight, comes from hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).

Secondly, Hosea 4:6 reveals that ignorance of God’s Word is the greatest reason for the failure of christians. A lack of knowledge of God’s word is the foundation upon which the enemy stands to defeat a child of God. If you know the Truth, the enemy can’t defeat you.

Daniel 11:32 reveals that those who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. Your strength in the fight of faith is based on how much knowledge of God you have from His word. Accurate and sufficient knowledge of God’s word is your strength in battle and greatest defense against the devil’s tactics and schemes.

So, before fighting ensure that you are equipped with accurate and adequate knowledge of God’s Word. Stand on scripture as you pray to God and ask Him to heal you. Stand on scripture as you pray for your business, family and unsaved relatives. This is your sure foundation for winning the good fight of faith. Glory to Jesus!

The purpose of this mark set before you by God, is to keep you motivated, hungry and zealous throughout your journey of pursuing God’s purpose for your life. That is why it always manifests as a continual discomfort and dissatisfaction you keep having even in a time of great achievement and success.

The mark God has set before you saves you from competing and comparing yourself with others. It keeps you focused on the unique vision and set standard God has for your life.

It is the inner voice that keeps assuring you that “there is still more inside of you”. Listening to this voice is key to being an excellent leader. It will help you be diligent and stay fervent in all your service towards God and people.

How to Fight and Win II

In Christ, we have only one fight - it is the good fight of faith. The good fight of faith is the conflict between the life promised us in God’s word, and the realities we see everyday. It is the challenge to manifest all that Christ has made available to you through His death, burial and resurrection.

In part one, I taught that to win this fight, the first thing you need is to fight using the word of God. You must know the promises of God and stand on them in faith to declare the changes you need in your life. If you didn’t read it, kindly get it and it will bless you.

Secondly, you must fight using the Name of Jesus. Jesus said, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14 (KJV)

There is power in the Name of Jesus. It is the channel for accessing all that God has available for you. That is why Jesus boldly said that whatever you ask for in His Name, will be given to you.

The Name of Jesus is also your platform for exercising the divine authority and power you have received in Christ. In that Name, you can cast out devils, minister healing to the sick and receive divine protection from all that wants to harm you (Mark 16:17-18). It is the Name that elevates you above the devil and all the forces of darkness.

Acts 4:12 reveals that it is the only Name by which we are saved. Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, can be saved or delivered.

Colossians 2:9 reveals that in Jesus, dwells all the fullness of the God-head bodily. So, when you call on the Name of Jesus, all of heaven backs you up. It is the Name vested with all the authority and power of the God-Head. Hallelujah!

That is why Philippians 2:9-11 says that at the sound of that Name, every knee MUST BOW of things in heaven, things in the earth and things under the earth. When you fight using the Name of Jesus, you have the backing of all heaven. It is the Name you are meant to use in prayer to enforce the will of God in your life. It is the Name that provokes the release of God’s power in every situation and causes miracles to happen. It is the Name above all Names! Glory to Jesus forever!

Our theme for this month of July is faith and one of the greatest hindrances to faith, is negative thinking patterns.

In the fight of faith, how you think plays a major role in determining whether you win or fail. The way you think will either strengthen and empower you for victory over the devil or make you his captive.

Another Bible translation of Proverbs 4:23 says, “Be careful how you think. Your thoughts make you the person that you are.” Your thoughts shape your life. They even determine your character, personality and final destination in life.

It is very important for you to always reject and cancel out every negative thought that tries to occupy your mind. Refuse to dwell on them through meditation, worry and anxiety. Instead, counter them by declaring the word of God over your life and making it your daily meditation.

2 Corinthians 10:4 teaches us that we should cast down every wrong imagination and bring every evil thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. We do this as we think and meditate on the Word of God.

When I perceived that my time for getting married had come, I asked one of my friends to pray with me about the matter. His answer shocked me. He said, “Is God the One going to get married? Just choose a girl you like and marry them?”

As shocking as this was to me, I have discovered that it is the thinking of many young people even in church. However, marriage is delicate and very important that it requires God’s help to make the right decision. What my friend was advising was for me to rely on myself as I choose a mate. However, our opening scripture reveals the opposite.

God wants to be involved in all your decisions including choosing a mate to marry. Until you learn to depend on God in all your decision making, it will be impossible for you to stop making bad decisions.

Leaning on your own understanding instead of leaning on God and His wisdom, is the reason for poor decision making and failure. Understand that God loves you and He has the best interests at heart towards you. All His guidance and counsel is to help you succeed and never fail. This is what should make you humble enough to trust Him and depend on Him in all things.

The best decisions are made in God and not outside Him. It is through His wisdom that we are saved from making wrong choices in relationships, business, career, and ministry.

Note also that every decision made in God has His protection and backing. Every decision made outside Him, has to be backed by you and your strength. God is not obligated to preserve or protect what He never started but guards jealously everything He was part of from the beginning.

To know the right way to take, you must depend on God to guide you. Trust Him to continually guide your steps in all things because He is all knowing. “Seek his will in all you do, and He will direct your paths.” That is the ancient wisdom for always making the right decisions in life, in Jesus Mighty Name!

For many years now I have taught on the subject of divine healing because it is part of my assignment in life. Today, I feel there is even a greater need to teach and emphasize the subject of divine healing.

Many new diseases have sprung up over the past few years and with them comes a feeling of fear among people. Many science labs are filled with failed drug tests and the doctors are troubled by their inability to help those with ‘incurable’ diseases.

Our opening scripture reveals that divine healing is meant to be taught EVERYWHERE. It is the solution to all new diseases and the inability of medical science to heal ‘incurable’ diseases.

God alone has the power to raise the dead back to life, cure the incurable and provide solutions beyond the reach of scientific innovation. The statement that stands out is that “with God, all things are possible” (Mark 10:27).

This is the reason why we can’t get tired of preaching and emphasizing divine healing. It is a need for every generation. Divine healing is God’s solution to what is humanly impossible. It is a demonstration of His love for humanity.

That is why the Lord didn’t send the disciples to preach and heal in some places but in all places. Just as preaching was for all people in all places, divine healing too was to be ministered to all people in all places. We are to preach everywhere and also heal everywhere. This is the full mandate given to all disciples of Jesus.

Wherever salvation for the soul is emphasized, there should also be an equal emphasis on divine healing for the body. Divine healing is God’s will for all people everywhere just as salvation is for all people everywhere. This is the balanced gospel of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

The Gift of Righteousness

Righteousness means being justified or declared not guilty before God. It is our freedom from sin, guilt and condemnation before God through faith and our union with Christ.

When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He takes out the old sinful nature you obtained through the sin of the first Adam, and replaces it with a new one. This new nature is righteous, holy and perfect before God. It is Christlike.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) says, “Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” Being born again means having a change of nature. Your spiritual nature is changed from ungodly to godly, unholy to holy, unrighteous to righteous and from devilish to Christlike. It is the receiving of the nature and Spirit of Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:30 reveals that Christ Himself has become our righteousness. He is our ability to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt, fear and unworthiness. This is what God wants for all humanity and the reason why He wants all people to be saved.

In conclusion, 2 Corinthians 5:21 teaches us that God made Jesus to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God through Him. The gift of righteousness is received through faith in Jesus Christ. He is the giver of righteousness. So, if you are born again, you are righteous through faith in Jesus. This is God’s free gift to you. If you are not yet born again, you can obtain this free gift by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today. Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus!

Success is not for a select few; it is God’s dream and desire for us all. That is why at a given moment in time, everyone of us is presented with an opportunity to succeed. How we handle this opportunity is what defines whether we succeed or not.

Those who seize the moment and put in all the necessary effort and work eventually secure success. But those who despise the opportunity and do not act as demanded, miss the success and stay at the same level.

It is also important to note that in life, there are two kinds of people; those who are disciplined and hard working, and those who are passive and lazy. The first type is the one that always seizes the moment and maximize their output to secure success. The other group is the one that doesn’t discern opportunities for success and never takes advantage of them.

Discipline and hard work are principles of wisdom to help us take advantage of every given opportunity we have for success. They are weapons to guard our lives from ending up in regret.

When you give your very best to all you do, success will be your reward. People only end up in regret because they failed to apply themselves to the principles of disciplined behavior and hardwork.

God wants you to live a fulfilling and successful life. He wants you to be wise enough to discern your opportunities and maximize them through hardwork. This is the only way to avoid a life that ends up in regret. It is the key to securing the future God designed for you. Glory to Jesus!

The goal of true leaders is to raise other leaders. True leadership is not about making yourself invincible or building a throne for yourself; it is about helping others find and fulfill their God-given purpose in life.

True leadership recognizes the leadership potentials in others, and helps them find the resources and platforms to equip them and help them become leaders too. Leadership is rooted in the ability to inspire and train others so that they too can fulfill their God-given destiny.

This is how leaders truly build the kingdom of God. By training others for leadership, you participate in the fulfillment of God’s succession plan. You participate in the process of making available the next generation of leaders who will carry on the work of God even after you are gone to be with the Lord.

Joseph used his leadership position to train other leaders and teach them wisdom. This is the true biblical pattern and spirit of leadership.

True leaders are secure; they know who they are in God and what God has called them to do in this world. That is why they are not afraid to train other leaders and give them opportunity to lead. They are never intimidated by the rising of new and younger leaders. It is rather their joy to see others rise and even do more than they accomplished in their own time.

So, as a leader, learn to passionately use your position to inspire and train others for their leadership place in God. In the kingdom of God, money is a tool. It is an instrument for encouraging the spread of the gospel. This is the lesson we get from our opening scripture.

We give tithes and offerings to provide money that can be used to spearhead the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul’s Ministry grew and impacted so many lives as he received offerings or financial help from the church in Macedonia.

When the devil wants to limit the spread of the gospel, he speaks to believers and convinces them to stop giving their tithes and offerings faithfully. He knows that if the church has little money, it’s efforts of preaching, teaching and making disciples of all nations are limited.

As a result, many souls can be lost and evil can increase in the nations of the world. But when money is abundant in the ministry, the influence of the church grows speedily bringing many souls to Christ and hindering evil from increasing in the nations of the world.

God instructed us to be faithful in our tithes and offerings so that there will be enough money to use in evangelizing the world. Your giving is very important to God because it influences the speed and impact of the gospel in the world. It is part and parcel of your participation in preaching the good news of Jesus Christ.

So, choose today to work with Jesus in winning souls, discipling the nations and setting the captives free, by always giving your tithes and offerings faithfully, in Jesus’ Name!

The Principal Thing

The word ‘principal’ used in this verse, refers to the most important thing. That is why the New Century Version says “Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. If it costs everything you have, get understanding.”

This verse is God’s voice revealing to you the importance of wisdom in your life and instructing you not to neglect or ignore it.

The word ‘principal’ also means of the highest rank. Wisdom is the highest ranked ingredient in life because you can’t succeed without it. Verse 8 says “Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.”

Proverbs 8:11 says “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” Divine wisdom is the most highly priced possession in life. It is better to have wisdom than to have gold, silver and all the things we seek in life. That is why it is highly ranked as the principal thing.

So, what is wisdom? In the Old Testament, wisdom referred to the fear of the Lord, the right application of knowledge and having an insight into deep and hidden things. In the New Testament, Jesus is revealed as God’s wisdom to us (1 Cor. 1:24, 30). Knowing Him and allowing His life to flow through you everyday to impact others, is the manifestation of New Testament wisdom.

Wisdom also refers to the ability to create, invent and innovate. It is our platform for co-creating with God and adding value to humanity. Wise people always improve the livelihood of those around them and make their world a better place than they came on the scene.

As a child of God, you are wise because Jesus (the embodiment of all divine wisdom) lives in you. You have the ability to walk in the fear of the Lord, be prudent in all matters of life, and apply knowledge right. You also have the capacity to interpret seasons and hidden mysteries, be creative and innovative at your workplace and make the world a better place than it was before you were born. This is your testimony, in Jesus Name!

Wisdom has a two dimensional role in our lives. Its first role is to give us access to deep and intimate things that are not yet revealed. It is the force behind revelation knowledge.

That is why in Ephesians 1:17-18, Paul prayed for the church to be granted the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. Revelation knowledge is a product of the working of the Spirit of wisdom in a man or woman.

The purpose of wisdom however doesn’t end with giving you access to revelation. The second purpose of God’s wisdom is to teach you how to guard and protect whatever you receive from God through revelation. It has a role to defend you and whatever you have received. This is the balanced operation of wisdom; to grant you access, and also help you protect and keep whatever you access.

Forexample, wisdom helps you get rich and wealthy without getting spoilt and becoming proud. It teaches you the corresponding disciplines that help you guard your treasures from loss. It gives you access to knowledge and also teaches you how to apply it effectively to have the best results.

Scripture says, “The prosperity of fools shall destroy them ...”. Without wisdom, whatever you gain access to remains vulnerable and subject to loss. This means that though many good things may come to you from God, you will not have the ability to keep them. They can even become a challenge and source of destruction to your life.

Wisdom is a weapon of defense to protect and preserve all that you have accessed from God. It is the ability to both know the right spouse to marry and also treat them the right way in marriage. It is the ability to have a business idea and also build it into a great and influential company. It is the ability to have children and also know how to raise them up into responsible men and women in society.

Divine wisdom is your ability to build a firm foundation for your life and also build a strong superstructure on top of it. It is the key to guarding all that you access from God, from loss. In Jesus Name!

There is a great difference between how God deals with sin among non believers and among His children. This is one of the most important truths we should be established in.

Note that in our opening scripture, the Lord said to the crippled man, “Son, your sins are forgiven you”. Though the man had been brought for healing, Jesus reached out and first dealt with the sin problem.

The reason is that guilt resulting from past sin is an enemy to exercising great faith in God. It is one of the major hindrances to receiving divine healing. Jesus forgave the man so that his faith is not hindered by any guilt.

However, I want to focus your attention on something even more important. When you examine the construction of Jesus’ words, you will see and understand the mind of God concerning forgiveness among His children.

Jesus said, “Son, your sins are forgiven you”. Did you notice that the Lord called the crippled man “Son”? By doing so, the Lord helped him understand the priority of heaven. The Lord wanted him and us to know that our relationship with God comes before forgiveness. Who we are before God is His first priority and not what we have done or not done.

Your relationship with God as His Son or daughter, is His first priority and not your sins. He calls you Son even before forgiving you because forgiveness follows your relationship with Him. Your identity before Him in Christ is what counts most. So, be of good cheer and know that He still loves you.

“Son, your sins are forgiven you”, said Jesus because that is how God treats His children when they sin. He still calls you child after all your mess. He is a loving Father who is always ready to forgive us when we do wrong. He looks at us from the standpoint of our relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ and not from the point of our weaknesses and failures.

He is saying to you today, “Son, your sins are forgiven you”. “Daughter, your sins are forgiven you”. No matter how guilty you feel, His love covers over and takes away all your sins. He loves you and that is the foundation for His forgiveness towards you. This is part of your inheritance in Christ as a Son or daughter of God. Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus forever!

One of the purposes of divine wisdom in our lives is to give direction. Direction also means vision. When the wisdom of God is at work, it will show you God’s vision for your life. This vision is what gives you a clear direction in life.

In the absence of a clear vision or direction, there is always confusion which eventually leads to frustration. Clarity always brings peace of mind and heart, faith for the future, and focus in life.

Note that the wisdom of God functions through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. It is as you yield to the voice of the Holy Spirit in your life and walk in the principles of scripture, that you find direction for every aspect of your life.

Wisdom has the capacity to guide you in your family affairs by teaching you how to treat your spouse right and how to raise your children right. It is able to also direct you on how to build and grow your business effectively. Wisdom is also the power force behind building and sustaining ministry and career.

As you allow wisdom to direct every area of your life, you will start seeing progress in areas where you were feeling stagnated. You will also start experiencing victory in areas where you once felt defeated. Dreams that you had buried and given up on will start coming alive again and you will see them bearing fruit. Wisdom is a non negotiable requirement in leadership. It is the backbone of true and lasting leadership in all aspects of life.

What is wisdom?

It is the divine force that enables a leader to make the right judgement that can help him make the best decisions in all situations. Wisdom is the ability to discern between what is right and wrong coupled with the ability to choose what is right.

When wisdom is at work, a leader is able to make the right decisions both for himself and for the well being of those he leads. Poor decision making is therefore a sign and result of neglecting wisdom in your leadership.

Wisdom activates the reasoning faculties of the leader enabling him to think creatively and come up with the best solutions to every challenge. This helps him ensure progress both for his personal life and for those he leads.

In our opening scripture, Joshua was announced by wisdom. It was the wisdom at work in him that made the children of Israel hearken to him as they did Moses.

In the time of Solomon, God gave him wisdom and it’s first manifestation was the right judgement of matters. Two women had a conflict over a child and by wisdom Solomon determined accurately who the right mother was. This saved the child’s life and also brought healing to the broken heart of the real mother (1 Kings 3:25-27). It was God’s way of announcing Solomon to Israel. From that time on, they submitted to him as their King.

Fasting is the deliberate abstinence from food or food and drinks, for the purpose of spending quality time with God in worship, prayer and Bible study. However, fasting can also extend into personal instructions from God to abstain from a specific thing of the world (e.g. movies) that may be harmful to your spiritual life and a hindrance to the fulfillment of your God-given destiny.

The Bible is filled with many examples of people who fasted and each one gives us several lessons about fasting. However, in all fastings, there is a general lesson we can learn. The main spiritual benefit of fasting is learning self control. Fasting helps you set aside your desires to pursue the things God wants for you. It teaches you to be submitted to God and His will instead of being driven by your own will and desires.

This is what Jesus taught us in our opening scripture. He refused to submit to the demand of the flesh and of the devil because He had just come from fasting. The fasting had empowered Him to seek higher things than food and drink. That is why He said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Fasting causes you to prioritize spiritual things above carnal ones. It helps you treasure the Word of God and your destiny more than the pleasures of this world.

It is a major platform for building the courage to stand up to the devil during temptation and reject his offers. Just like Jesus, after fasting, you have the power to overcome sinful tendencies that may want to draw you away from God and His purpose for your life. All these are results of the self control built within your spirit man during fasting.

Self control is the ability to restrain yourself from submitting to the voice of the flesh. It is a great weapon for defeating the devil’s tricks and temptations. So, learn to give yourself to seasons of fasting and prayer. They will help you tame selfish and destructive desires, improve your fellowship with God through concentrated times of worship and prayer, and open you up to life-changing revelations from God’s word during Bible study. This is your heritage as a man or woman given to fasting, in Jesus Name.

Hungry After Fasting

Our level of depth in God is determined by our zeal for God and His purposes in the Earth. Zeal refers to a deep and unquenchable passion for God. It is having a strong love for God coupled with a desire to serve Him. A strong zeal for God causes you to yield fully to Him and His purposes.

However, before zeal is spiritual hunger. Spiritual hunger is the flame that keeps your zeal for God burning bright.

Note that in our opening scripture, the Lord fasted and then became hungry. The word of God is a double-edged sword, therefore though this was a physical hunger, it carries a spiritual meaning as well.

The Spirit of God was revealing to us that spiritual hunger can be birthed on the platform of fasting. If your fire or zeal for God feels low, it is wisdom to engage in a season of fasting and prayer to rekindle it.

Fasting is a spiritual platform for reviving your love for God, passion for His Word, and rekindling the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. It stirs you up and helps you rise to higher places of spiritual hunger, zeal and depth in God.

It is a platform for laying aside spiritual weights that may be causing you to lag behind in zeal and depth. After fasting, you will desire the Word of God more, and gain the strength you need to serve God fervently with all your heart.

A goal is a destination that helps you measure success and achievement. A successful life is built on well established goals. However, for goals to motivate us effectively, they should both tell us what to achieve, when to achieve it and why we should achieve it.

Strong goals always have a timeline attached to them, and strong reasons for doing so. Those who know what to do and when to do it will always be ahead of those who simply know what to do. To every goal of your life, deliberately attach specific dates or timelines for achieving them. This is the only way to eliminate ambiguity.

The next part of the success equation is determining why you want to achieve these goals. This part is about establishing very strong and valid reasons for accomplishing your goals. The stronger your reasons for working hard are, the more hardworking you will be. The stronger your reasons for waking up to pray are, the easier it will be for you to wake up and pray.

What to do — helps you know the activities you should undertake to change your life and present circumstances. When to do it — helps you be specific in carrying out your activities by putting specific timelines for accomplishing every activity or goal. Why you should do it — gives you the reason for doing all you are doing without quitting or giving up. It is the birthplace of persistent effort and resilience.

These three areas of your goals are very crucial in helping you live a well defined and successful life. Find out what you should do, when you should do it, and ensure that you have enough strong reasons why you should do it.

How To Pick Up A Mantle

“Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, ‘Where is the Lord God of Elijah?’ And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, ‘The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.’ And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.”

Elisha is a great example of how to connect to the anointing or mantle on any man or woman of God. He is the man who took up the mantle of the great prophet Elijah. Here are five keys to picking up a mantle that we learn from him:

a) Elisha submitted to the authority of Elijah. He left his job, his parents and friends and followed Elijah wherever he went. He recognized the value of his relationship with Elijah and willingly gave up all things to submit to him and sit under him as a student.

b) Elisha faithfully served Elijah. He is the man who poured water on the hands of Elijah. He not only submitted to Elijah to learn but also used his strength to serve the man of God. This was part of his positioning to receive the mantle because service is a mark of humility. It’s also a mark of faith because we only truly serve those we believe in.

c) Elisha followed hard after Elijah. He pursued the grace and anointing on Elijah with all his heart. While others casually spoke of Elijah, Elisha treated him with reverence and great honor. Treating a man or woman of God casually, disconnects you from the place of receiving what is upon them. Also note that even when he was challenged by the man of God and told several times to stay behind, he refused to stop following until he received the mantle.

d) Elisha discerned the time of Elijah’s lifting and acted right. While others only knew that Elijah was being taken up, Elisha knew more than that — he discerned a transition and a release of a mantle. His ability to discern this, is what helped him ask for the double portion of Elijah’s spirit and he received it.

e) Elisha immediately patterned his ministry and actions after the ministry of Elijah. He immediately began operating like Elijah — first by doing the very last miracle he saw Elijah perform before his departure (parting the Jordan). Those who truly receive the mantle can’t hide it; their pattern and operation in the Spirit shows it clearly.

So, whose mantle do you want to pick up? These five steps can help you receive it and manifest it in your generation, in Jesus Name!

It is good to know that someone loves you. Everyone wants to feel loved by those around them. However, the truth is that not everyone will love you.

Rejection by people you expected to love you can hurt. It can cause your heart to withdraw in fear and pain. It is the mother of suspicion and mistrust, low self esteem and feelings of being unworthy. So, how do we deal with these negative feelings when we are among those who don’t accept or love us?

The answer is finding confidence in God’s love. Understand that you are loved by the best and greatest of all. God is your Father and you are His child. He highly esteems you, treasures you greatly and loves you dearly. Let His love be your source of confidence and assurance in life at all times.

Romans 5:8 says while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. If God so loved us when we were still sinners, imagine how much He now loves us since we are His sons and daughters.

Romans 8:32 says, God did not spare His only Son Jesus when He was demonstrating His love for you. The sacrifice of Jesus was the proof of how much you are loved by God.

God’s love is the best because it is unconditional and never fades. So, no matter how many people hate you or don’t accept you, always be confident in this — that God, the creator of the universe, loves you. Hallelujah!

Dominion Through Wisdom

The mandate of the church, which is also the mandate of every believer, is “to occupy till Jesus comes back”. To occupy means to be in command, take charge and have dominion.

We, like Adam, are given a mandate to have dominion over the Earth as ambassadors of Christ. We are called to govern the affairs of this world and dictate how things are done, through the operation of God’s Spirit in us.

One of the major tools God has given us to be in dominion is divine wisdom. It is by displaying the wisdom of God in all aspects of human life, that we will be able to rule over the forces of darkness, bless humanity immensely, and make the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our God.

Our opening scripture teaches us that wisdom captures the attention of the whole world. This is a sign that every nation submits to divine wisdom. When wisdom is at work, it makes nations become your students. That is how Solomon subdued and dominated all nations.

In the time of Daniel, he ruled Babylon through the working of God’s wisdom in him. He provided solutions that no other wise man could provide. He counseled Kings and excelled above all his peers. One time the King even sought to place him as leader over the whole kingdom because he had the wisdom of God manifested continually through him (Daniel 5–6).

By divine wisdom, Joseph also provided an agricultural formula that saved Egypt and the whole world from a 7-year long famine. He became Father to Pharaoh through wisdom and a teacher to all his senators and princes (Psalm 105:20-22). He was the second in command in a foreign land, because they saw the wisdom of God at work in his life.

The point is that wisdom is one of the greatest assets you have as a child of God. It is a tool for influencing lives positively and opening up their hearts to submit to the God you serve. As you provide excellent solutions in your company, you glorify God and lift up the Name of Jesus. This is how you dominate the world through the wisdom of God. Glory to Jesus!

The call to leadership is a call to solve problems. Leadership is not in a title or position but in one’s ability to provide solutions to the problems of those around him or her.

You were born as an answer to the cries of many people in this world. You came to solve specific problems for specific groups of people who are hurting. When you discover the group you are called to help and the problems you are called to solve, that is when your leadership journey starts.

Leadership starts by becoming a helper to others. It is rooted in your ability to be touched by the needs of those around you so much that you resolve to do something about it.

Leaders identify the problems around them, and instead of complaining or waiting for someone else to solve them, they take action and solve those problems.

You are a helper. The world is meant to become a better place than it was before you were born. You carry divine solutions that can change many people’s lives and align them to God’s purpose and will.

You are not a problem but a problem solver. So, instead of seeking someone to meet your needs, look at the world and see how you can help them solve their problems. As you embark on the journey of meeting other people’s needs, providing answers to their questions and solving their problems, they will call you their leader. Glory to Jesus!

One of the greatest dangers of evolution is that it confuses people and hinders them from accurately knowing who they are, why they are here and where they came from. Biblical truth is the key to discovering who you truly are, why you truly are here, and where you really came from.

You are a child of God. You are here to fulfill a divine purpose and you came from heaven.

Our opening scripture gives a clear picture of where we came from and why we are here. God spoke to a young man named Jeremiah and revealed to him both his origin and purpose for living. He said to him, “I knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, and even before she gave birth to you, I sanctified you and ordained you to be my prophet to the nations.”

This verse is not specific to Jeremiah alone but is for us all. It is God’s revelation to us about why we are here and where we came from. You came from God before you entered into your mother’s womb. He knew you even before your parents knew you. You are here to fulfill a divine purpose.

Discerning Prophetic Seasons

God is a God of patterns. His purposes and plans are well arranged to be done in specific times and seasons of human history. These times and seasons are called prophetic times and seasons because they lay the foundation for actualizing the future God has for you.

Our opening scripture teaches us that the wise in heart can discern the time and judgement, because to every purpose there is a specific time and judgement. The word judgement used here also means procedure or right way to act. So, a wise person discerns both what time it is and what procedure to take or how to act right in order to maximize the moment.

This is God’s way of working even in our individual lives; He works in specific times and seasons. Though He is always at work, He chooses to do certain remarkable works in our lives at given moments of time every year or every after a specific period of time.

Discerning prophetic seasons helps you align with God’s perfect will and purpose for your life at every given moment of time. It helps you position yourself right so that you don’t miss any opportunity God has for you to either lift you or bless you greatly. It is a major factor in defeating stagnation.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, “… the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Understanding your time, and knowing what to do, is key to making progress in your life continually. When you discern what time it is, and know what procedure or actions to take, your success will be inevitable.

Even in ministry, graces are released in specific times and seasons. Those who discern those times are lifted up above those who don’t. They may not be as eloquent or articulate as others, but the grace poured out will lift them because they discerned it and acted accordingly.

So, according to God’s calendar for your life, what time are you in right now and what actions is He requiring from you to maximize the moment? Understanding this will unlock the next cycle of your life, in Jesus Name.

Passing The Love Test

One of the greatest tests in leadership is the love test. It has two parts: the test of your love for God, and the test of your love for people.

When Jesus was being crucified on the Cross, He was stripped naked, beaten and ridiculed by the very people He was dying for. In that time, Jesus faced one of the greatest tests — the test of rejection. He was rejected by the very people He came to save.

Every leader must go through rejection by those he or she loves and serves at one time. It is one of the key platforms God uses to teach you to love people unconditionally and pass the love test.

Joseph too went through this test when he was not only hated but eventually sold by his brothers into slavery. He had to love them and forgive them after all these events. He also had to forgive Potiphar for not believing him when his wife accused him falsely. That is how he passed the love test.

Jesus and Joseph both forgave the people who hurt them because they saw God’s purpose in the matter. Rejection comes as a prophetic message from God revealing that your lifting is near. So, every time you face rejection, discern that your time of promotion has come and rejoice. This is part of your wisdom for passing the love test.

As a leader, understand that rejection is not meant to destroy you; it is part of your building. It is meant to refine your values, beliefs and purify your heart. Rejection reveals to you the frailty of human love, and draws you closer to God.

Part of your call as a leader is to love all people, treat them right even when they don’t respect or treat you right, and pursue peace with all. This is your wisdom for keeping a pure heart, protecting your anointing, and becoming a great leader in God’s kingdom. Glory to Jesus!

The Healing Ministry

Jesus came teaching, preaching and healing. Those are the three parts that made up His full ministry. Each part was crucial to the effective release of God’s saving power in the world and none of them should be neglected.

These three parts make up the total sum of the works of Jesus. He worked for the Father through teaching, preaching and healing the sick. We are meant to follow His example by embracing all of them in our generation.

It is important for every Christian to value the teaching ministry, the preaching of the gospel (evangelism), and the healing ministry as well. We need all the three at work in the Body of Christ (the Church) to effectively represent Christ and turn many to righteousness.

The healing ministry is equally as important as the teaching and preaching of the gospel. All three ministries must equally be respected and applied in our ministry because they are the channels for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in full power.

What is impossible with medical science is possible with Jesus. He is the best source of healing for the hurting world. This is the ultimate purpose of the healing ministry: to present a living and powerful Christ to the world so as to prove to them that He is still the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8), in Jesus Mighty Name!

Wisdom is the principal thing because it is the foundation for all success.

What is wisdom? Wisdom is the ability to make the right judgements, accurate decisions, and take the right paths in life. It is rooted in the fear of God and having an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

It is important to note that unlike worldly wisdom which is selfish and destructive, the wisdom of God is a Savior. God’s wisdom seeks to help and save lives. This character of God’s wisdom is what makes it superior to all other wisdoms.

Our opening scripture reveals that this wisdom is received through daily study of the scriptures. This means that if you truly read and understand the Bible, it will make you wise enough to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

A Mind Of Wide Range

One of the purposes of wisdom is to influence our minds positively. Wisdom helps you adopt a new and superior way of thinking creatively, reasoning intelligently, interpreting things accurately, and coming up with ideas that can change the lives of those around you.

A wise person has a mind that is not only influenced by education but by the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding (Isaiah 11:2) and can give to you a mind that is not ordinary. When God gave Solomon wisdom, it affected his mind. Our opening scripture testifies that Solomon had a mind of wide range.

The New English Translation says Solomon taught about botany and even produced manuals on it. He also taught about biology and produced manuals for others to read. He composed over 1000 songs, and also wrote over 3000 Proverbs. This is the true definition of a mind of wide range. It is able to do many things effectively without losing focus of the main thing.

God wants you to have a mind of wide range — so that you can think for the whole world and come up with ideas that can change the way things are done. He wants to give you solutions to agricultural problems, solutions to scientific issues bothering the world, and do through you that which will make the world a better place to live.

A mind of wide range is part of your inheritance in Christ. It makes you a solution in your company, ministry, and wherever you are placed. So, as a child of God, start adopting this mind of wide range. Open up to the Spirit of wisdom to give you ideas and solutions that go beyond you and your family. You have the ability to think creatively for the whole world, in Jesus Name.

Life changes and takes a drastic turn when you discover that the Bible is not a religious book. Though this has been the thinking of many for generations, it is false.

The Bible is indeed a spiritual book but not a religious one. It is a manual for living and the embodiment of truth. The Bible is a wisdom manual containing the very wisdom of God — the creator of heaven and earth. It is a revelation of the thoughts, purposes and ways of God.

Our opening scripture reveals that when God called Joshua into leadership, He immediately instructed him to study the Book of Teachings. He gave him the Bible as his wisdom manual for becoming a successful leader. This pattern has not changed; whoever is called by God to lead must be a student of His Word. They must live and lead by the Word of God.

Great leaders are godly leaders. They lead by divine convictions and wisdom received from their knowledge of the scriptures. They have a superior mentality and a great love for the people they lead because they are men and women of the Word. They also have enough courage to act contrary to what is popular if it goes against the written word of God. Their success is rooted in their ability to always seek God’s will in the matter and act according to divine principles laid out in the Bible.

The Bible is God’s wisdom manual and guide for building great leaders in all fields of life. So, as a parent, engineer, employer or pastor, lead according to the convictions from divine truth. Make the reading of your Bible a must because it is the foundation for becoming wise and successful in all you do. Detest the ‘I know it all’ attitude, and seek God’s wisdom in all matters. This is your wisdom for building a firm foundation for your leadership success, in Jesus Name.

Values are things that you hold as dear and sacred in your life. They are the major guiding principles of your life. Values are based on one’s beliefs and form a major part of their philosophy about life. They shape the way you see the world, people, business, family, and life in general. They guide your thinking processes, decision-making, and overall behavior in life.

One of the greatest enemies of good moral values is loving and prioritizing money above relationships. Because of the importance of money and how many problems it helps us solve, we can make it our main goal in life and despise relationships. However, this puts us in a very dangerous place in life.

It can put the husband in a place where he is always paying bills but never has time for his wife and children. It can make the woman career oriented and too busy to take care of her home. It can turn a young man into a greedy robber who breaks into other people’s houses to steal from them. This is all a result of valuing money above your value for people and relationships.

Valuing people is the key to treating them right and having pure and strong values in life. For example, it is wisdom to prioritize and value your relationship with your family, friends, and customers above the desire to make money. This will keep you sober and of very good behavior.

Understand that it is through quality relationships with people that God will open up major financial doors for you.

Wisdom will teach you that all the money you want is in the hands of people. Every amount you need will somehow come from either a customer, friend, relative, or employer. All these are people, and how you value and treat them will influence your prosperity.

So, learn to treat people with a sense of value and dignity. This is your wisdom for keeping good values that will eventually make you stable even in your days of great wealth and prosperity, in Jesus’ Name.

God knows you better than you even know yourself, and it is wisdom to seek His guidance concerning which path to take in the area of work. He knows what you can easily succeed in and what will cause you to struggle and fail. He alone can help you discern the right work for you.

Many people have regrets in life because they simply followed their parents’ advice or career path, and others took on the paths that promised them the highest pay. To avoid wasting your time and energy on unprofitable labor, you must seek God’s wisdom and guidance.

The right work is not simply the job that you like or that pays you much money; it is the right work coupled with the blessing of God. It is the perfect and most profitable positioning for you in the business or career world. It is the path that guarantees not only increase for you financially but a joyful and satisfying life. It comes with assurance of divine health, peace of heart and mind, and victory in spite of all the opposition against you.

It is the work that will bring your creative potentials to their fullest expression, help you maximize your God-given skills and talents, and secure the best opportunities you need for success. Our opening scripture calls it “the thing which is good”. It is the good and perfect path for you to follow.

Discernment is the part of wisdom that helps you distinguish between light and darkness, truth and falsehood, pure and wicked, and enables you to make the right decision and take the right actions. So, how do you discern the right work?

a) Find out your God-given passion and make it a greater priority than your academic certificate.

b) Identify your God-given skills and talents.

c) Seek God in prayer and ask for His guidance.

d) Check with the messages that consistently come to you in your visions and dreams. God doesn’t speak once; He always speaks repeatedly to confirm His voice to you.

e) Also check with the convictions your loved ones have about you and the messages they give you. God easily speaks and guides us through people who genuinely love us.

The ultimate purpose of the right work is to provide you with the highest platform for changing many lives for God. It is the work path that will bring you the greatest rewards and fulfillment both here on Earth and from God when you get to heaven. That is why it is very important to identify and follow it, in Jesus Name.

The greatest purpose of Christianity is to influence the world and turn them to Jesus so that their souls are saved and they receive eternal life. One of the major weapons for doing this effectively is divine wisdom.

One of the purposes of God’s wisdom in your life is to give you a supernatural intellectual upgrade. When God gave Solomon wisdom, his mind and intellect also received an upgrade.

The scripture says Solomon had “a mind as limitless as the sand on the seashore”. Hallelujah! He could reason at the highest level and provide answers only God can give.

In Daniel 1, God also gave the same blessing to Daniel and his three friends. Scripture says, “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.” — Daniel 1:17, 20 (KJV)

Before the fall, man was immortal and not subject to death. He was full of life. When man sinned in the garden, he opened a door for death to rule over all humanity. Sin is, therefore, the mother and father of death.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Death comes from Satan — he is the thief. Jesus came to deliver us from sin so that we could be set free from the power of death. He gives us eternal life.

John 3:16 says, “Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The life Jesus gives you as a child of God sets you free from the power of sin and its consequences including death. Romans 8:2 says, “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death.” As a child of God, you didn’t only receive forgiveness of sins — Jesus gave you a new life. This new life gave you victory over sin, sickness, and death.

Sickness is an agent of death because once it is not healed, it leads to death. But through eternal life, we have been delivered from the dominion of sin, sickness, and premature death. We have been reconnected back to the realm of immortality through faith in Jesus Christ. Glory to Jesus!

The greatest gift God gave to us is His Son Jesus Christ. This gives us an understanding that salvation is not the receiving of a new religion; it is the receiving of Jesus Christ into your life.

The purpose of salvation is to bring you into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Yes, He forgives your sins and makes you a new creation. He heals all your diseases and makes you whole again. He also prospers you greatly, but He is the greatest Gift to you.

Healing is not God’s greatest gift to you; Jesus is. Supernatural provision is not God’s greatest blessing to you; Jesus is. The blessings are simply signs that you have entered into a relationship with the Person — Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” God’s Gift of love to you is His Son Jesus Christ. He is your salvation, redemption, healing, wisdom, and eternal life.

Dry Brooks And Open Doors

God operates in seasons and times. For every season of your life, He will guide, protect, teach you, and provide for you through specific instructions.

Instructions define seasons, and our obedience to these instructions defines the outcomes of our seasons.

Dry brooks represent seasons and instructions that have expired. They signal the end of an old season and the ushering in of a new one. They also signal an end to an old instruction and the release of a new one.

Though God had instructed Elijah to go and stay at the brook Cherith, a time came when it dried up. This was God’s voice instructing Elijah that the time for being at the brook was over. A new season was beckoning, and he needed to catch up.

God spoke to him to leave the brook and go to the widow of Zarephath. She was the open door for him and God’s new channel of provision. Every dry brook signals the opening of a new door of provision for you. When the appointed place of provision ceases to provide, instead of complaining, understand that a new door is already open for you. God doesn’t allow His people to go hungry or starve. He has abundant provisions for every season.

When one relationship fails, know that God has a better one waiting for you. When one business deal doesn’t come through, God has the power to open a new one for you. When you lose a loved one, God will connect you to new people who will love you and help your heart be healed.

All you need is to hear from Him and know the open door that awaits you. Dry brooks don’t mean that God has stopped providing for you; they only mean that a new door of provision has been opened for you. So, cultivate the habit of discerning dry brooks and connect to the new doors God has opened for you in every season, in Jesus Name!

The leading of God is a major factor in making an effective leader. Only leaders who are led by the Holy Spirit can understand the mind of God and accurately follow His will.

Effective leaders lead based on what is revealed to them by the Holy Spirit. They don’t follow what they like or what is popular. They also deal with conflict, relate to people, and conduct all their affairs based on the convictions given to them from the Holy Spirit.

When a leader submits to the voice of the Holy Spirit to be his guide, he easily finds himself always walking in the perfect will of God. This makes his leadership solid, stable, and effective.

The leading of the Holy Spirit helps the leader discover the right vision, the right people to work with, and the right course to follow in executing God’s will and purpose. He is also able to know what to do and how to act in every season. This makes him an effective leader to his followers.

The opposite is true. If a leader isn’t submitted to the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit, he will easily find himself confused, and simply following what he sees others doing instead of following God’s clear path for his life.

So, as a leader, it is wisdom for you to build an intimate relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit. Through daily study and consistent fellowship with Him in prayer, His voice will become very clear to you. His guiding voice in your life is key to making you an effective leader, in Jesus Name.

Wisdom From God’s Word

There are two kinds of wisdom, namely, worldly wisdom and godly wisdom. Worldly wisdom is the wisdom of this world, built on the standards of man and not of God. This wisdom is corrupt and destructive in nature. Godly wisdom is the wisdom of God, and it is built on the word of God. The aim of godly wisdom is to impart life and save you from destruction.

In our opening scripture, David teaches us that God makes wise the simple through the teachings in His word. The scriptures are God’s instrument for imparting wisdom to your heart and mind.

James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.” This prayer is answered by God teaching you His word and imparting wisdom to your heart and mind daily through the scriptures. God gives you wisdom mainly through His word.

In 2 Timothy 3:15, Paul instructs Timothy to give himself to the word because it is able to make one wise unto salvation. The wisdom from God’s word is a saving wisdom. It is able to lead you to Christ for the salvation of your soul and also keep you in the path of righteousness without falling away.

So, as you study the scriptures, you will grow in the wisdom of God, develop a greater understanding of how life works, and be empowered to succeed in all you do, in Jesus Name!

Every true leader is a diligent learner. Leaders love books because they are passionate seekers of knowledge.

With the unveiling of your responsibility as a leader, also comes an immediate feeling of being ignorant and incompetent enough to handle the task ahead. This creates within you a great passion for knowledge and learning.

One of the major reasons why leaders read hard and search for knowledge consistently is because they have a strong desire to see people’s lives changed and achieve their God-given dreams. The burden of learning is every leader’s private challenge. Leaders grow in private through a diligent search for knowledge before they come out in public to make an impact among those they lead.

The knowledge of the truth is the leader’s pathway into the hidden wisdom of God needed to improve his intellectual capacity, sharpen his skills, and position him as a solution to those he is called to lead. That is why our opening scripture says, “Wise men store up knowledge [in mind and heart]…”

So, as a leader, invest in reading the Bible to improve your relationship with God, read relevant books in your field of leadership, and also attend seminars to learn from those who have gone ahead of you. John 8:32 is one of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible. It reveals to us the way to freedom and also teaches us how to keep that freedom. The way is through the knowledge of the truth.

The more truth you discover, the more freedom you experience. Freedom is hidden in truth, just as bondage is hidden in ignorance. Ignorance is the mother of darkness and bondage. God has provided His Word as a platform for knowing the truth that can deliver us from ignorance and the bondage that accompanies it.

Furthermore, truth is the key to building faith. Romans 10:17 teaches that faith comes through hearing the word of God. You can rise to higher levels of faith by becoming a consistent hearer of God’s word.

The knowledge of the truth sets you free because it brings you the faith you need to receive any miracle you need from God. Truth builds within you the faith you need to connect to the power of God. Then, that power makes you free from all evil.

So, as you study the truth concerning divine healing, it fills your heart with the faith you need to receive healing for any disease in your body. Truth produces faith, and faith activates the power of God to heal you and make you whole. This is the connection between truth, faith, and divine healing. Glory to Jesus!

The subject of angels is very intriguing. It captures the interest of everyone, including little children. So, who are angels, and what is their purpose in our lives?

Angels are spirit beings created by God to serve His purposes. So, by nature, we can’t see them with our physical eyes except we are supernaturally permitted by God.

However, it is important to note that there are both good angels and evil angels. Good angels are God’s servants sent to do us good. Their main purpose is to carry out God’s instructions in the Earth under the supreme Headship of the Chief Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

Evil angels are also called demons, fallen angels, or evil spirits, and their main work is to afflict humanity with all kinds of evil. They work for the devil; always carrying out his instructions in the Earth.

Our focus today is on the good angels and their work in our life. Our opening scripture reveals that one of their purposes in our life is to warn us of coming evil and show us the way of escape.

Angels carry heavenly messages to guide us in life and keep us safe from all evil. They are always working to save us from all evil. They enforce God’s protection in our lives.

This understanding is key to driving fear out of your life. You are surrounded by heavenly protection through the ministry of angels. No matter how much evil the devil brings against you, the angels of God will preserve and protect you from all of it. You have nothing to fear. Hallelujah!

And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. One of the major needs of leaders is creative thinkers and implementors. Every leader thrives on the ability to come up with creative ideas and execute them with excellence.

The wisdom of Joseph teaches us two fundamental keys on how to present ourselves right before leadership and how to win the favor of our leaders.

Joseph interpreted the dream, but that was not the reason why the king promoted him. He was promoted because he was able to give the King an idea or plan on how to save the land from the famine. His plan was so detailed and clear that the king and all his officials liked it (verse 37).

So, the first key to winning the heart of your leader is coming up with brilliant and practical ideas that can provide a solution to a specific problem. Ideas that can help solve major issues in the company or ministry, touch the heart of your leader, and bring you into favor with him or her.

Secondly, Joseph had the ability to implement the plan or idea he suggested to the King (verse 46-49). This is the most challenging part for leaders. They tend to have many people who advise and give ideas, but only a few can implement what they suggest.

Like Pharaoh, leaders are looking for people who can both come up with brilliant ideas and also have the ability to execute them. This is the mark of excellent performers in ministry, business, and career. The combination of an ability to think creatively and come up with productive ideas and the ability to implement them excellently always wins the leader’s heart and brings you into favor with them.

So, become a person who always comes up with creative and impactful ideas and ask God to give you the ability to implement them. This is the wisdom that will position you for continual promotion, in Jesus Name.

Emotional Stability

Marriages, business partnerships, and many other relationships either succeed or fail because of how we handle our emotions. Emotional stability is key to saving your marriage from divorce, saving you from mistreating your workers, and being offended in God.

Emotions are a major part of how we relate with people and even God every day. Sorrow, anger, joy, and happiness are all triggered by emotions. So, it matters how much control we have over our emotions every day.

Emotional stability is about being able to control your feelings so as to avoid acting wrong in any given situation. It is the ability to stay emotionally sound and positive in attitude under pressure or negative circumstances.

This is very important because how we feel shapes how we think and act. Our opening scripture says, “Be ye angry and sin not.” It reveals to us that though negative emotions can be triggered at times, we have the power to rule them and not allow them to control our actions.

You have power over negative emotions like anger, sorrow, and unhappiness. This power resides in your spirit man. By the power of the Holy Spirit at work in you, you can love even when you are hurt emotionally, and you can be joyful even after a great loss. By living from your spirit instead of dwelling on what is happening around you (outside), you can have power over all negative emotions and live a successful life every day.

Emotional stability is a result of being controlled by the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and your new nature in Christ instead of living according to the flesh. It is part of your journey into maturity in Christ. Glory to Jesus!

The Christian life is a life of authority and dominion over sin, Satan, and all his works. In Jesus, we are given supernatural power to live victoriously in spite of all the evil powers in this world.

We are not simply forgiven of all our sin, Jesus has imparted His authority on us through the use of His Name. By this authority, we can successfully stand against every demonic force and trample upon them without being hurt at all.

So, whether they are serpents, scorpions, or lions, Jesus has put us above all of them, and they cannot hurt us. In Psalm 91:13 (TPT), God said, “You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet!” Glory to Jesus!

A true Christian is a terror to Satan and all his demons because he or she walks in the authority of Jesus Christ. This authority is greater than what Satan and all demons have.

Nature determines character and behavior. Animals behave differently from humans because of their animal nature. We act differently from animals because of our human nature.

Disobedience is also a result of the prevailing nature in humans — the nature of the first man, Adam (Eph. 2:1-2). Obedience is a result of having a new nature — the nature of Christ, the last Adam (Eph. 2:10).

Trying to change one’s behavior without changing their nature is a waste of time. Everyone’s nature controls their behavior.

Salvation is the rebirth of the human spirit, planting within us a new heart, and giving us a new spirit that is yielded to the will and purpose of God. It is the taking out of the old (adamic) nature of disobedience and giving us a new (Christlike) nature. It is the only way to effectively change our character and make us obedient to God.

That is why our opening scripture teaches that when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, there is a recreation. We become new creatures. The old way of life is destroyed, and a new way of living comes to life in us. Hallelujah!

So, the easiest way to change your life and overcome negative habits is by surrendering your life to Christ and becoming born again. A new creation is God’s solution for defeating all sinful habits. Glory to Jesus!

Leadership Series: Agents Of Restoration

One of the main purposes of true leadership, is to bring restoration. True leaders are raised by God to restore what was broken or lost.

This is best demonstrated through the leadership of our Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in our opening scripture.

Jesus came to restore us back into fellowship and relationship with God. He came to bring reconciliation between the fallen man and the Holy God. He came to undo the evil created by the first Adam. This is the right attitude of every leader.

True leaders, identify the needs of humanity, and seek to be used by God to bring about restoration, order, and reconciliation. They bridge the gap between the poor and the rich by empowering the poor to become rich. They are envoys of joy to the sorrowful and hurting. They are emissaries of hope to the hopeless. They carry good news to the brokenhearted.

Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Adam had introduced spiritual death through sin, but Jesus came that we might have eternal life and have a right-standing with God (righteousness).

So, your leadership starts when you identify the parts of humanity that God has assigned you to restore. Are you called to help the orphans? Are you called to defend the widows? Are you called to bring healing to the sick? As you yield to God to use you to heal and restore those broken parts, you will find your true leadership assignment and fulfillment in life. Leaders are agents of restoration. Glory to Jesus!

Everyone born into this world is born for a purpose. Even in cases where rape or adultery was involved, children must be viewed as gifts from God. No child should ever be ostracized and treated as a social misfit. Every child should be treated with respect and viewed as special.

No matter how you were conceived and born, God knows you, and He has a special purpose for your life. You are not here by accident; you are here to fulfill a divine purpose.

Our opening scripture reveals that one of your purposes in life is to bring positive change in the world. You are here to bless humanity. You are here to bring solutions to the needs and cries of many. You carry answers to the questions in many people’s hearts.

As you meet those in low places (the valley), you will refresh them with the good news of the gospel. When you meet the hungry, you will feed them. You will take many adopted children back to school and give them hope of a bright future. When you meet the sick, you will lay hands on them, and they will recover.

Every valley or low life you encounter will be blessed by you. Every dry land you go through will become a pool of water. This capacity resides in you because you were born as an agent of change in Jesus Name.
